Chapter 11 – Love In A Bottle

Introduction

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Eleven of Year Six of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you met with Chester and explained the situation to him. While he couldn’t directly help you, he told you that it is possible to sneak into the Ministry of Magic using an Invisibility Cloak. After talking to Jae, you learned that one of his business acquaintances could probably sell you one of those cloaks.

However, he won’t sell it to you unless you give him a Love Potion. Luckily, according to Andre, Penny should be able to brew it, so you should seek out her help.

Walkthrough

As soon as you’re done with the lessons. The first one for this chapter is Herbology, so head there when you are ready. To unlock the Bouncing Bulb lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from Herbology classes. As usual, pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.

Luckily, the reward actions are plentiful in Herbology, which should make things a bit easier for you.

As for the mini-tasks, do as many of these successfully as you can to gain some extra Empathy points.

Return to the classroom once you unlock the lesson. Completing the Bouncing Bulb lesson requires earning five stars within three hours.

Follow the same steps you took during the previous classes and you’ll be done in no time.

Also, fertilizing Bouncing Bulb is remarkably funny.

When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can claim an additional reward in the Herbology section of your Hogwarts Record.

For the second lesson, you should proceed to the Divination Classroom. Unlocking the Crystal-gazing lesson requires earning nine stars from Divination classes. Choose the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.

Similar to Herbology, Divination classes also have a lot of bonus actions.

Completing the mini-tasks will grant you some additional Empathy points.

When you obtain enough stars to unlock the lesson, return to the classroom to attend it. Learning Crystal Gazing requires earning five stars within eight hours.

The major things that differentiate this lesson from the rest of the regular classes are the passing requirements and some of the mini tasks.

Once you finish the lesson, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You’ll be able to claim an additional reward in the Divination section of your Hogwarts Record.

When you are ready, head to the Three Broomsticks to meet Penny. Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of the characters before continuing. When you approach Penny she will complain that Beatrice is still avoiding her.

Then you’ll update her about the recent events.

You’ll also clarify the purpose of seeking her help, explaining your need for a Love Potion and your belief that she can create one. Penny will be taken aback by this and mention that there’s a good reason they were banned from Hogwarts. If you completed Crushed Side Quest, she will remind you of the choice you made during it.

You’ll give more details, making it clear that the Love Potion is for Alistair, not for you. You’ll also explain that Alistair offered the Invisibility Cloak in exchange for the potion and that this is the only way to help you sneak into the Ministry and get Rakepick’s Dark artifacts before she does.

Needless to say, she will find your plan extremely reckless and dangerous. In other words, you will have to convince her. To persuade Penny, you need to earn three diamonds within 7 turns.

This acts similarly to drinking butterbeer with friends. Simply pick the friendly answers and you shouldn’t have any problems. Below are the questions and answers to them.

• Why do you need my help? – You’re a brilliant Potioneer. (Knowledge)
• But Love Potions are wrong… – I need it to stop Rakepick. (Courage)
• What if we get in trouble? – I’ll take all the blame. (Knowledge)
• Isn’t there another way? – No, Invisibility Cloaks are rare. (Courage)
• I’ve never brewed one before… – It’ll be a good test of your skills. (Empathy)
• What if Alistair misuses it? – Its effects are only temporary. (Empathy)
• I’m just not sure about this… – I really need your help. (Empathy

Completing this task will earn you some friendship experience with Penny.

Thankfully, your Hufflepuff friend will agree to help you. However, she will need you to collect some of the ingredients.

Luckily, you should be able to get some rose thorns from the greenhouses, but you will have to wait three hours before you can continue.

Once the waiting time is over, head to the greenhouses to get rose thorns. Much to your surprise, you will notice two of your friends when you arrive.

You’ll see Rowan teaching Barnaby, and when they ask what you’re doing, you’ll quickly say you’re collecting rose thorns, which will make Rowan curious, but you’ll avoid answering more questions.

After talking for a bit, you will learn why Rowan is helping Barnaby.

Barnaby will surely find Rowan ‘suitable’ for the role. Not long after that, you will convince them to help you gather some rose thorns. Doing so requires earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.

As always, prioritize the bonus actions to save energy.

Once you are done collecting the rose thorns, you’ll decide to head to the Kitchens to get some peppermint. Since you didn’t really answer the question earlier, Rowan will choose to accompany you.

Proceed to the Kitchens for your next task. Once you get there, you will be able to interact with some House-Elves before continuing. Pitts will be very surprised to see you again.

Rowan will be the one to answer his question.

This will make Pitts even more curious.

Next, you’ll request some peppermint from him. Although he might initially resist, Jae will swiftly suggest a solution that would be advantageous for all.

You’ll gladly agree to that, and your unscheduled work in the Kitchens will begin. This requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

There are plenty of reward actions available here, which will make it much easier to complete the task.

Once you’re done, Pitts will thank you and Rowan for helping and allow you to take some peppermint. Jae will think you need peppermint for the Love Potion, and Rowan will finally figure out why you’re collecting the ingredients. You’ll tell your friend everything, except the part about sneaking into the Ministry of Magic.

Jae will suggest seeking one of his business associates for the last two ingredients on the list.

Since the alternative would involve stealing from Snape, you will gladly agree to Jae’s proposition. Rowan will be eager to come with you. Jae will say it’s not a good idea since Rowan tends to ask a lot of questions, and that could spell trouble.

Still, it is ultimately your choice whether or not you want Rowan to accompany you there. The following part of the chapter will be different, based on this choice. If you care about Rowan, it is highly recommended to pick the first option. since this choice will have a heavy impact in the future.

Regardless of your choice, Jae will tell you he’ll arrange everything.

There is a waiting period of one hour before you can continue. Since your energy is likely low after completing the previous task, it is recommended to wait until this timer expires.

Head to the Hogsmeade Train Station once the waiting time is over. The following section will feature Rowan accompanying you. If you choose to go alone, you will encounter Bilton once you arrive. The story and the dialogue will be different, but the difficulty of the task will be the same.

Rowan will point out an interesting detail about the nearby clock, which is that he is always stuck at ten past ten.

Shortly after, you will explain why you need an Invisibility Cloak.

Your friend will be shocked to hear that. You have three options to reply with. If you like Rowan, it is somewhat recommended to pick the second option.

You’ll find out that Rowan is concerned about you, and he’ll ask if you’ve changed since the incident in the Portrait Vault. This choice will affect the following dialogue, but it won’t have any significant effect on the story, so feel free to take your pick.

Not long after that, you will realize that the train is running late, so Rowan will suggest using the time to catch up. Talking to Rowan requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are reward actions tied to Rowan and your character. Prioritize them to save energy.

When you are done, Rowan will ask if you ever cast the Tickling Charm on Merula during your first duel. Whether you did so or not, it will be referenced here.

Moments later, Rowan will cast the Tickling Charm on you.

Needless to say, you will start laughing uncontrollably.

You’ll decide to reply in kind. Trace the wand movement on the screen to cast Rictusempra.

This will cause Rowan to literally roll on the floor laughing.

After helping your friend get up, you will cast Finite Incantatem to remove the effects of the Tickling Charm.

The train will arrive shortly, and you’ll decide to meet up with the witch and get the ingredients.

Next, you should meet with Penny to brew a Love Potion. However, there’s a waiting period of four hours before you can continue. Like before, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Once you’re able to continue, head to the Artefact Room to meet Penny. After presenting all of the ingredients to your Hufflepuff friend, you will notice that she’s acting oddly. Apparently, her mind is quite preoccupied.

You’ll decide to hear her out while brewing the potion. To brew a Love Potion, you need to earn five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.

There are reward actions tied to Penny, your character, and the cauldron, which should make this task a bit easier to complete.

When you are done, you’ll learn that Penny decided to give her sister some space. However, she isn’t quite certain if that’s the right decision, so she’ll ask for your opinion. If you care about Penny, it is recommended to pick the first option. That will put her mind at ease, and she’ll feel a lot better knowing you support her.

In a little while, Andre will arrive in the room and inquire about the status of the Love Potion. Alistair’s growing impatience suggests that you should act swiftly if you intend to secure the Invisibility Cloak.

Thankfully, the potion brewing process was a success, and you can soon exchange it for the cloak.
