Chapter 2 – Curses and Prophecies
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Two of Year Six of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you started Year 6 of your Hogwarts studies. During the Start-of-Term Feast, you reunited with most of your friends and discussed the past happenings. However, not all of them were present at the feast. Ben, Merula, and Beatrice were all absent.
Eventually, you find Ben and Merula and learn that both of them changed after what happened in the Portrait Vault. The only one you haven’t seen yet is Beatrice, and Penny warned you that something happened to her.

Walkthrough
But first, you should get the lessons out of the way. Proceed to the Herbology classroom when you are ready. To unlock the Fluxweed lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from Herbology classes. Select the class duration that suits you and hit Start to begin.
As usual, prioritize the reward actions to save energy.
Also, try your best to succeed at all of the mini-tasks for some extra Empathy points.
Return to the classroom once you obtain enough stars to unlock the lesson. To complete the Fluxweed lesson, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass.
Follow the same steps from the previous classes and you should be done in no time.
Upon earning the fifth star, you’ll be tasked with fertilizing your plant, so trace the path on the screen to do that.
When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can collect it in the Herbology section of your Hogwarts Record.
For the second lesson of the chapter, proceed to the History of Magic classroom. To unlock the History of Wandlore lesson, you need to earn nine stars from History of Magic classes. Like before, pick the class duration suitable to your liking and hit the Start button to begin.
There should be quite a few bonus actions available during these classes, so use that to your advantage.
And pay attention to mini-tasks to earn some bonus Knowledge points.
Once you unlock the lesson, head back to the classroom to attend it. Like most other History of Magic lessons, History of Wandlore also requires earning five stars within eight hours to pass.
When you earn all five stars, you’ll need to quickly finish your essay. Keep the icon in the green zone until it’s fully lit in order to do so.
Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can collect an additional reward for completing the lesson in the History of Magic section of your Hogwarts Record.
Now that both lessons have been dealt with, proceed to the Three Broomsticks to meet Penny. Upon getting there, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters and check out what they have to say. You’ll notice that something is troubling Penny.
Sadly, she’ll be hesitant to open up and tell you what’s bothering her, so you’ll need to do some convincing. Getting her to open up requires earning three diamonds within seven turns. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels and the cost of each attempt.
This is fairly similar to drinking butterbeer. Simply select the options that will reassure Penny, and you shouldn’t encounter any problems. Some of the questions and answers are shown below.
- Why should I confide in you? – I’m very trustworthy. (Knowledge)
- I’d be betraying my sister.. – Not if you’re trying to help her. (Courage)
- What could you even do to help? – Whatever you’d like for me to do. (Empathy)
- I don’t want to burden you… – It’s no burden. I’m here for you (Empathy)
- Aren’t you busy? – I’m never too busy for you. (Courage)
- Can you keep a secret? – Yes, of course. (Knowledge)
When you are done, you’ll receive some friendship experience with Penny.
Penny will say that she and Beatrice broke up over the summer. She’ll add that she feels that they might become strangers and that deeply disturbs her.
You’ll quickly offer to help with the situation.
Penny will tell you that Beatrice is usually hanging around the Courtyard with a new crowd. Before you’re able to continue, there is a waiting period of three hours. It is recommended to simply wait until this timer expires.
Head to the Clocktower Courtyard once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends by tapping on their speech bubbles. According to Andre, Beatrice has been Ismelda-fied. When you take a look at her new style, you will find it obvious.
He’ll tell you that you can learn a lot about people by watching them. You have two options to respond with. This choice won’t impact the story in any significant way, so feel free to pick either option.
Shortly after, you’ll approach Beatrice and Ismelda. By the looks of it, they won’t be too happy to see you and Beatrice will immediately assume that Penny put you up to this.
Ismelda will be curious to know why you are getting involved. You have three options to respond with. Other than some minor dialogue differences, this choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you want. Still, if you care about Penny, you might want to select the first choice.
You’ll then tell Beatrice that Penny misses her, and you’ll ask her to hear you out. Persuading Beatrice to talk to her sister requires earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.
Keep in mind that you can slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are reward actions tied to Beatrice and your character. Focus on those actions to save energy.
Sadly, even after you’re done, Beatrice still won’t be willing to talk to Penny. In other words, you’ll have to find some other way to convince her.
Barnaby might be able to assist you with this. Proceed to the Training Grounds when you are ready to meet him. Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say to you. Apparently, Barnaby is taking painting lessons from Badeea.
You’ll have three options to react to his painting. While some dialogue may differ depending on this choice, the story won’t be affected by it. Also, don’t worry, Barnaby won’t be offended, no matter which option you choose.
As it turns out, he has some interesting plans.
Shortly after, you’ll ask for his advice about Ismelda and he’ll be willing to give you one, but you’ll need to duel him for it.
Eventually, you’ll agree to his request. The task window will display recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt.
The attribute requirements for this duel are quite low, which should make things much easier for you.
After defeating Barnaby, you’ll tell him why you need his help.
He’ll then give you his best advice.
Badeea and you’ll be deeply touched by his words.
You’ll thank him for the advice before you leave. Sadly, there’s a waiting period of eight hours before you can continue. Like before, it is recommended to wait for this timer to expire.
Proceed to the Courtyard once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, you’ll notice Professor Snape and Beatrice both staring at something, or rather, someone.
Apparently, another curse has been unleashed upon Hogwarts.
You’ll then get to investigate the scene. To do that, you need to earn five stars within three hours. One star is required to pass.
There should be several bonus actions available here, so prioritize them if you are looking to save some energy.
Once you’re done, Professor Snape will give you his expert opinion.
Furthermore, he’ll share his unsuccessful attempts at locating Rakepick over the summer. Regardless, he will make the decision to notify the Headmaster about this situation and ensure that the student is taken to the hospital wing.
Shortly after, you’ll get to attend your first Divination Class, so proceed to the classroom when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends before the class starts. Professor Trelawney will welcome everyone to her class as she introduces herself.
She’ll then ask everyone to tell her why they decided to study Divination. The first one to answer will be Liz.
Ismelda will be the next one to answer the question.
Eventually, it will be your turn. You have two options to choose from, but none of these will have any major impact on the story, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
Not long after that, Professor Trelawney will say a few words about the lesson.
Studying tea leaves requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
Luckily, there are quite a few reward actions available here, which should save you some energy.
Once you are done, Professor Trelawney will receive a vision after looking at your cup of tea.
Needless to say, her vision will surprise you.
Not long after that, Chapter 2 of Year 6 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
The Year has just started and another curse has already struck Hogwarts. How will your friends react once they hear about it? And where will you start your investigation? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!
