Chapter 20 – A Circle Of Friends
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty of Year Six of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, pretty much everyone at Hogwarts gathered in the Great Hall to give one last goodbye to Rowan, who tragically died protecting his friends. Everyone was very shocked about this, and sadness was ever-present in the vast hall.
Professor Dumbledore held a speech and reminded everyone of Rowan’s selfless sacrifice. Later on, you took some time to mourn your friend, and after a while, you were informed that the Dementors had left Hogwarts since the Azkaban escapee was no longer within the castle’s parameters.
You also met with Merula and Ben, and after discussing things for a while, you decided to form your own secret organization in order to fight ‘R’.

Walkthrough
You’ll need to inform your other friends about this, but before that, you should finish the lessons. Proceed to the Potions classroom when you are ready. To unlock the Dreamless Sleep Potion lesson, you’ll need to acquire a total of nine stars from Potions classes. As usual, select the class duration suitable to your liking, and hit Start to begin.
Prioritize actions with bonus progress whenever you see them available to save energy and complete the classes faster.
Also, try your best to complete all of the mini-tasks successfully since these will award you some Knowledge points.
Upon obtaining enough stars to unlock the lesson, head back to the classroom to attend it. Learning to brew Dreamless Sleep Potion requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this lesson if you’re out of energy.
For the most part, this lesson is fairly similar to the regular Potions classes. Pay attention to some of the mini-tasks, since they are unique to this lesson.
Upon earning the fifth star, you’ll need to finish the potion. Trace the wand movement on the screen to wave your wand over the cauldron.
Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can claim an additional reward in the Potions section of your Hogwarts Record.
For the second lesson, proceed to the Care of Magical Creatures. Unlocking the Thestral lesson requires earning nine stars from the Care of Magical Creatures classes. Select the class duration that suits you the most and hit Start when you’re ready to begin.
Like before, focus on the bonus progress actions if you’re looking to save energy.
Successfully completing mini-tasks will award you some additional Courage points.
Once the lesson is unlocked, head back to Care of Magical Creatures to attend it. Completing this lesson requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to begin this one if you’re low on energy.
Follow the same steps you took during the previous classes, and you’ll be done in no time.
Upon earning all five stars, you’ll be tasked with sketching the Thestral.
When you are done, hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can collect it in the Care of Magical Creatures section of your Hogwarts Record.
Now that the lessons are done, you can proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn to meet with your friends. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters before continuing. You’ll immediately notice that most of your friends have arrived to hear you out. After greeting everyone, you’ll warn them that what you’re about to say is for their ears only.
You’ll remind everyone of Rowan’s heroic sacrifice before you start explaining things and you will tell them that it’s about time to do something. Merula will cut your explanation short and get straight to the point.
Merula will directly ask them if they want to join your secret organization or not. However, there are some things your friends should know before they decide whether or not they want to join your secret organization, adding that what you’re up against is much bigger than Rakepick and it’s about ‘R’. Informing your friends requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
There are bonus actions linked to Badeea and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.
When you’re done, your friends will finally understand what’s going on. You’ll also say that the last vault is probably near the Black Lake, and Penny and Charlie will back you up on this. You’ll also bring up the unsettling warning you got from ‘R’ before.
This time, however, you’ll decide to notify all your friends to protect them. In any case, your chances of defeating ‘R’ will be much higher if all of you are together. Ismelda will ask one of the most obvious questions.
Unfortunately, you can only say for sure that Rakepick and Azkaban escapee are working for ‘R’. Tulip and Talbott will eventually sum up everything you know.
You will also mention that defeating ‘R’ and bringing Rakepick to justice would be a great way to honor Rowan. Tonks will break the ice by saying she’s more than willing to help you with this. The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will cut it short for everyone else.
Thankfully, not a single one of your friends will leave.
Liz will be curious to know what to do next. You’ll quickly provide some answers to her and the rest of your friends. You will say that now you should practice and divide into groups based on your individual strengths, united in your common goal. You’ll also admit the difficulty of keeping things secret.
Tulip will add that Jae is right and that you need code words. Barnaby will suggest coming up with a name for your organization, and Ben will quickly suggest one.
Merula, along with some of your friends, will actually like this name, and Badeea will add that circles are infinite, unbroken and forever.
It was decided your secret organization will be called Circle of Khanna. Then you’ll suggest that you divide into teams and start working.
Next, you’ll need to meet with Merula. However, there’s a waiting period of three hours before you can continue. Since your energy is likely low following the previous task, it is somewhat recommended simply to wait until this timer expires. That will be enough time for your energy to fully regenerate.
Once the waiting time is over, head to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom to meet with Merula. When you arrive, you’ll be very surprised to see Beatrice hanging around. You’ll ask her what she’s doing here and say it’s supposed to be a secret.
Well, that’s one person who already knows about your ‘secret’ organization. As for Merula, she’ll be very determined to take care of Rakepick. She’ll say that even though you’re in the Circle of Khanna now, that doesn’t mean she’s given up on eliminating Rakepick.
According to Beatrice, the three of them gathered to study some curses and Dark artifacts. Still, you’ll be curious to know if Penny is aware of Beatrice’s involvement.
Apparently, that question was pointless. Beatrice will ask if you plan to tell Penny about it. This choice won’t have much influence on the story, so you can feel free to take your pick. However, if you like Penny, it is somewhat recommended to go with the first option.
Moments later, Penny will arrive. As it appears, Cedric already told her about Beatrice. However, she didn’t come to argue with her sister. You’ll kindly ask her to explain everything.
Listening to Penny requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
There are bonus actions linked to Penny. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.
When you’re done, Penny will explain why she came and apologize to Beatrice, recognizing that she should have been more understanding. She’ll ask Beatrice not to push her away and to want to be on her side.
Her sister’s words will definitely touch Beatrice.
As for Ismelda, she’ll question if it was the right decision to include Penny in your organization in the first place. For the first time in quite a while, Beatrice will stand up for her sister.
Beatrice will add that she doesn’t want to fight anymore. Needless to say, Penny will be very happy with this turn of events. Suddenly, Jae will barge in. Apparently, he has heard some parts of your conversation.
His sudden entrance will surprise you, and instead of explaining, he’ll simply ask you to follow him. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait for two hours before you can do that. Still, your energy will likely be low at this point, so just wait until the timer runs out and let your energy replenish in the process.
Once you’re able to continue, proceed to the Transfiguration classroom. As you arrive, you’ll instantly notice that pretty much all of the mischief-makers are in the classroom. Tap on the speech bubbles if you want to interact with some of them.
Once she sees you, Tulip will ask if you’re all right after everything that happened. There are three options to respond with. There’s no wrong answer here, so simply follow your feelings for this one.
You will thank her for being concerned about your well-being. You’ll notice Jae approaching and ask him about the Weasley twins. Apparently, both are interested in joining the Khanna circle, and he will reply that Fred and George followed him here from the Gryffindor Common room.
You’ll keep wondering about their plans, and Tulip will happily give you the details. Discussing their plan requires earning five stars within three hours. Only three stars are needed to pass.
There are reward actions linked to Andre and Jae. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.
Upon completing the task, you’ll learn their plan. You’ll say that working on disguises and magical ways to hide so you can infiltrate ‘R’ is a brilliant idea. As for the Weasley twins, they’ll be eager to lend their help.
Charlie will suddenly enter the classroom and he’ll be very surprised to see his younger siblings. Both Fred and George will quickly hide. Unfortunately, subtlety isn’t their strong suit.
Charlie is fine with letting it go for now, and he actually came to find you. He’ll ask you to follow him.
Head to the Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready. When you arrive, you’ll notice a lot of marine creatures near Liz and Barnaby. Apparently, a Murtlap named Hester is missing.
Liz will add that Barnaby named his favorite Murtlaps. Anyway, your friends will be glad to provide an explanation, but first, you’ll have to help them find Hester. Doing so requires earning five stars within eight hours. Three stars are needed to pass.
Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are reward actions tied to Charlie and one of the trees.
When you’re done, you’ll locate the missing Murtlap.
Barnaby will sincerely thank you for helping him find Hester, and afterward, your friends will start explaining their plan. Charlie will say that they are working on ways to beat Rakepick to the final Cursed Vault.
Barnaby will add that an army of marine creatures, led by Hester, could fend off the Grindylows and clear your way through the lake. It looks like Liz already informed Barnaby and Charlie about the conversation you eavesdropped on.
According to her, the final vault seems to be affecting the Grindylows. She will also say that she has been investigating them for a long time and thinks it is safe to assume that their strange behavior is related to the final vault.
Charlie will ask you about everyone’s training plans. There are two options to respond with. Neither of these will have any significant influence on the story, so feel free to take your pick.
Soon enough, you’ll decide to go to the Library to meet with Talbott and Badeea.
Proceed there when you are ready. Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters. It looks like Badeea and Talbott were busy working on something.
She’ll decide to show it to you, and Badeea will use her wand to make the painting appear.
Exploring their map requires earning five stars within three hours. One star is needed to pass.
There are reward actions linked to Talbott, Badeea, and the map. Prioritize these if you’re looking to save some energy.
It appears they’re working together to make a map for finding the last cursed vault, and they make a great team.
Talbot will add that he tells Badeea about his findings and that she makes a map based on it. You will be impressed with their progress, but there are still some difficult areas to explore. Talbot will admit they haven’t figured out how to explore the lake’s depths without swimming.
Badeea will hope that everything will go well and that the Circle of Khanna will have a magical map of the Black Lake and everything in it. Moments later, Madam Pince will approach and kindly ask you to leave the Library.
You’ll suggest going to the Training Grounds. However, before you can do that, there is a waiting period of two hours. Like before, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out.
Once the waiting time is over, proceed to the Training Grounds to meet with your friends. However, instead of Talbott and Badeea, you will find Ben, Cedric, and Diego. Ben will ask you what you are doing here.
Apparently, Cedric is well aware of your secret organization. In fact, it was Ben who informed him about it. According to Diego, Cedric is very skilled when it comes to dueling. They’ve been practicing for a long time, and Diego will suggest a break. However, Ben’ll want to continue training, and you’ll try to convince him to take a break.
In the end, he’ll agree to have a word with you if you can defeat him in a duel. The task window will display recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt. When you’re ready, hit Start to begin.
The attribute requirements for this duel are fairly low, which should give you a significant advantage. Still, Ben has a couple of tricks up his sleeve, so if you get unlucky, you can lose the duel. One of the strategies to use here would involve going Aggressive and hitting him with Depulso. Depending on your attribute levels, you should be able to defeat him in 2-3 turns.
Ben will be furious when you beat him, and he’ll say that he thought it would be different this time because of his extensive training. You’ll do your best to calm him down and also add that maybe that’s why you beat him because he trained to exhaustion.
You will also point out that training to exhaustion is not the answer. This is when you’ll notice how much he was affected by Rowan’s death.
Because of that, he will want to train as much as possible in order to prevent anyone else from being killed. You have two options to respond with. If you like Ben, it is recommended to pick the first option.
Then you will tell him that it is not easy for you either and that Rowan was in the forest that night because he was following you. Ben will curiously ask you what you talking about. However, before you can say more, Professor McGonagall will arrive, saying that the Headmaster wants to have a word with you.
Moments later, Chapter 20 of Year 6 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience Points.
