Chapter 27 – Letting Go
Introduction
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Twenty-Seven of Year Six of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, you tried talking to Beatrice and finding out what’s bothering her. Unfortunately, she wasn’t in the mood for conversation, so she left with Ismelda. You then decided to pay a visit to Duncan Ashe since Sir Cadogan told you he might know of a way to contact Jacob.
Charlie accompanied you to Prefect’s Bathroom where you found Duncan and talked to him about your past adventures. He then told you that he and Jacob used an old Boathouse as their secret meeting spot while they were working for ‘R’. After searching for it, you discovered another Black Quill. It contained a message from Jacob with instructions on how to contact him.
You quickly went to the Lakeshore and used the Vermillious spell to signal your brother. Luckily, he saw your spell and appeared nearby shortly after you cast it. You spent some time talking to him before you noticed Beatrice floating unconscious in the Black Lake. You quickly pulled her out of the lake and rushed her to the Hospital Wing.

Walkthrough
Now you can let her rest there for a while, at least until you are done with the lessons. Proceed to the Transfiguration classroom when you are ready for your first lesson of the chapter. To unlock the Gnome to Lawn Gnome lesson, you need to earn nine stars from the Transfiguration classes. Select the class duration you prefer and hit Start when you are ready to begin.
Like always, prioritize the bonus progress actions in order to save a bit of energy.
Also, focus on completing all of the mini-tasks successfully to earn some additional Knowledge points.
Head back to the classroom once you unlock the lesson. Learning how to transfigure Gnome to Lawn Gnome requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this lesson if you are low on energy.
Some of the mini-tasks will be specific to this lesson, so pay close attention to them.
Upon earning the fifth star, you will be tasked with casting this spell. Trace the wand movement in order to do so.
Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You can claim an additional reward in the Transfiguration section of your Hogwarts Record.
For the second lesson of the chapter, proceed to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. Unlocking the Flesh-Eating Slug lesson requires earning nine stars from Defence Against the Dark Arts classes. Select the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.
Like before, focus on completing actions with bonus progress whenever they are available to save some energy.
Try and complete all of the mini-tasks successfully to earn some extra Courage points.
Head back to the classroom once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson. To complete the Flesh-Eating Slug lesson, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass, which is why it’s not recommended to start this lesson if you are out of energy.
Like before, pay attention to some of the mini-tasks since they are unique to this lesson.
When you earn the fifth star, you will be tasked with defending yourself against the flesh-eating slug. Trace the wand movement to cast the defensive spell and protect yourself.
Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will earn an additional reward for completing the lesson. You can claim it in the Defence Against the Dark Arts section of your Hogwarts Record.
Now that the lessons have been dealt with, you can proceed to the Hospital Wing to check on Beatrice. You will find Penny looking after her sister. Apparently, Beatrice doesn’t remember everything.
You’ll tell her that you found her floating in the lake, and she’ll decide to tell you everything she remembers. Listening to Beatrice requires earning five stars within an hour. Three stars are needed to pass.
There are reward actions tied to Penny and Madam Pomfrey. Focus on these if you are looking to save some energy.
As it turns out, Beatrice went to the Black Lake to deal with her nightmares about the white-robed wizard who appeared at the Lakeshore.
It could be that she saw the Giant Squid.
Penny will scold her sister for being so reckless. Moments later, Chiara and Cedric will arrive to check on Beatrice.
Penny will thank them for taking care of her sister, and Chiara will decide to take a look at Beatrice again and make sure she’s okay, which will be your cue to leave. Before exiting the Hospital Wing, Penny will tell you she is very worried about Beatrice, especially now that she knows about her nightmares. Luckily, there might be someone who could help Beatrice.
You will have to wait three hours until the Potions Master is ready to see you. Since you are likely low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy replenish in the meantime.
Head to the Potions classroom once the waiting time is over. Professor Snape will be surprised to see Beatrice.
You will quickly say that you need him to help Beatrice, and she will tell him that she’s been having nightmares. You will add to that that these are not ordinary nightmares and that they last for weeks. You will then ask the Professor if he could use Legilimency to help Beatrice.
Snape will point out that you possess the power of Legilimency as well.
This, however, would better be left to someone who is much more experienced.
Eventually, Snape will agree to help. Shortly after, he will explain how Legilimency works before using it on Beatrice.
Getting help from Snape requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.
The only bonus action here is tied to Snape. Prioritize it if you want to save a bit of energy.
The Professor will explain what he saw while examining Beatrice’s mind.
Snape will say that those nightmares are the result of her trauma and Beatrice will ask him for advice.
Unfortunately, Snape won’t be able to help her with that. Maybe there’s some other way for Beatrice to deal with her nightmares.
Before you leave, the Professor will ask for a moment of your time. Beatrice will thank him for the help before leaving the classroom. Snape will ask if you are okay after all that happened recently.
There are three options to respond to him. This choice won’t have any significant impact on the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.
Shortly after, you’ll decide to check on Beatrice. While you are likely low on energy at this point, the next part doesn’t involve spending any energy, which is why it’s recommended to head to the courtyard as soon as possible.
You will be able to interact with some of the characters upon arriving. Beatrice will be curious to know what Snape wanted to talk to you about and you’ll gladly sate her curiosity.
Ismelda will find this surprisingly odd.
She will advise Beatrice to move on.
However, Beatrice doesn’t just want to get over it.
She’ll ask if you understand what she’s trying to say. If you like Beatrice, it is recommended to pick the second option. Otherwise, feel free to go with the one you prefer.
You will propose a solution to her problem.
You will suggest discussing it over a game of Gobstones and Ismelda will use the opportunity to leave.
As for Beatrice, she’ll be happy to talk to you about moving on. The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of the game. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.
This is very similar to the normal game of Gobstones. The biggest difference involves having 6 turns instead of 4. In general, try to pick the options that will make Beatrice feel better. Below are the questions and answers to them.
- What if I like who I’ve become? – You’ll be that person, but stronger. (Courage)
- I’m afraid of change. – Growing always involves change. (Empathy)
- Will my nightmares go away? – Only time will tell. (Knowledge)
- How do I move on? – Face your fears. (Courage)
- Why are you helping me? – Because we’re friends. (Empathy)
- What will the future hold? – We’ll find out together. (Empathy)
When you are done, Beatrice will agree to move on.
She’ll then ask you to follow her to the Grand Staircase. However, there is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. Since you are likely low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.
Go to the Grand Staircase once the waiting time is over. When you arrive, Beatrice will explain why she wanted to come to the spot she was trapped at.
Sir Cadogan will join in on your conversation.
He will give Beatrice some much-needed words of encouragement.
She’ll be surprised to hear this, and Sir Cadogan will then offer to tell her more. Listening to him requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass which is why you shouldn’t start this task if your energy is low.
There are bonus actions linked to Beatrice and your character. Prioritize these if you want to save some energy.
Sir Cadogan will sum things up once he’s done explaining.
If you completed the Call to Knighthood adventure, you’re in for some extra lines of dialogue.
Beatrice will thank both you and Sir Cadogan for everything you’ve done for her. She will also mention that she had some dreams about the Giant Squid.
Perhaps it’s time to prepare for what’s to come.
With this, Chapter 27 of Year 6 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards. You will receive 250 Coins and 2000 Experience Points. This will also add Beatrice to your list of friends.
How will you prepare for exploring the Black Lake and finding what’s beneath it? Will any member of the Circle of Khanna come up with some interesting ideas? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery.
