Chapter 41

Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Forty-One of Year Six of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. During the previous chapter, Merula told you she is set on accompanying you into the final Cursed Vault, and you agreed to train with her to prepare for what’s to come. You did some practicing on the training dummies, and you also had another duel with her. Later on, you discussed the plan, but there are some things you’ve yet to decide, such as choosing a few more people who will go with you on this dangerous mission. Also, you’ll have to check with Jae and see if he managed to obtain a lyre. But before that, you should take care of the lessons. Proceed to the Charms classroom when you are ready.

To unlock the Extinguishing Charm lesson, you need to acquire a total of nine stars from Charms classes. Select the class duration you prefer, and hit Start when you are ready to begin.

As always, prioritize 5-cost actions if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

As for the mini-tasks, completing each of these successfully will award you some Empathy points.

Return to the classroom once you collect enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Learning how to cast the Extinguishing Charm requires obtaining five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, it is recommended not to start this lesson if you are low on energy.

During this lesson, Professor Flitwick will ask you a question about the Extinguishing Charm, so be sure to answer it correctly.

Upon earning the fifth star, you will be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement to do so.

When you are done, proceed to the Training Grounds to attend the second lesson of the chapter.

Unlocking the Talirek Twirl lesson requires earning nine stars from the Flying Classes. Select the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.

As always, focus on 5-cost actions to save some energy.

Completing each of the mini-tasks successfully will grant you some bonus Courage points.

Return to the Training Grounds once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Learning the Talirek Twirl maneuver requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

During the lesson, Madam Hooch will ask you a question about this maneuver.

Upon earning the fifth star, you will be tasked with performing this maneuver. Trace the path on the screen to do so.

Once you complete the lesson, your energy limit will be increased by one point, which will certainly come in handy.

Now that the lessons are out of the way, proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn to meet with your friends.

When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters and see what they have to say.

You will ask Jae if he managed to obtain a lyre for the Merqueen.

Before answering your question, he will want to know if you were able to find the other tribute items.

You will nod and say that lyre is the last item you need.

Jae will wonder if you are worried about encountering Rakepick.

As for Merula, she is pretty much counting on that.

Jae will ask if you have any plans should Rakepick find the final Cursed Vault before you. There are two options to choose from. Merula will be very pleased if you select the second option. Other than that, you can feel free to pick the one you prefer.

Moments later, Merula will ask Jae about the lyre.

He will say he managed to acquire it, but something will feel off.

You’ll ask to have a look at it and see if it’s a fitting item for the tribute.

Examining the lyre requires earning five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass.

Normally, it would be recommended to earn a single star and let the timer expire. This way, you could save a lot of energy. However, there is a waiting period before the next task, which is why you should complete this one as soon as possible. Also, there are 5-cost actions linked to Jae and your character.

Merula will be disappointed by the lyre Jae obtained.

You will say that you need an undamaged lyre for the tribute.

Upon taking a closer look, you will notice that the instrument Jae obtained is in very good condition, minus the strings.

Jae will point out that someone who plays a stringed instrument might be able to help you fix the lyre.

Perhaps Kirley would be able to repair it?

Jae will decide to take the lyre to Kirley and see if he can fix it.

Merula will be quite eager to head into the Black Lake.

You’ll remind her that you still need to decide who to take on the mission.

She will instantly calm down and agree to look for potential candidates in the meantime.

Jae will tell you he’ll get the lyre fixed while you do that.

You will have to wait three hours until Merula is ready to meet with you. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Head to the Great Hall once the waiting time is over.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. Tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

You will ask Merula if she is ready to discuss the potential candidates for the upcoming mission.

She will smile at you, saying she’s eager to go over the options.

The Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts will point out you should look for the people who can contribute by being skilled at certain things.

She will ask for your opinion about it. There are three options to choose from. This choice won’t have any big impact on the story, so feel free to select the option you prefer.

Moments later, you will get to choose who to bring to the Black Lake.

This requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Tulip and Ben. Prioritize their actions if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

According to Merula, Ben is the perfect candidate to accompany you on the mission.

You will be unsure if that would be the best option, especially after what happened in the last vault.

Still, she will be convinced that choosing Ben is a good idea.

Merula will ask if you think that asking Ben to come with you is a bad idea. There are two options to choose from. These won’t have any major impact on the story, so feel free to pick either one.

Shortly after, both of you will approach Ben.

Merula will quickly get to the point and ask if he is willing to go to the final Cursed Vault with the two of you.

Without hesitating for even a moment, he will agree.

You will be slightly surprised by this.

As it seems, Ben already assumed he will go with you to the final Cursed Vault.

Merula will be happy with this turn of events.

Ben will suggest finding someone to watch your backs while you go into the Black Lake.

As it seems, he knows the person that would be perfect for the role.

The following task doesn’t involve spending any energy, which is why you should proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard as soon as possible.

Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your friends.

You will ask Ben about the person he has in mind to watch your backs once you go into the Black Lake.

He will tell you that Barnaby should be the one to be your backup.

You will be unsure if having someone watching the shore is a good idea.

Ben will explain that having someone watching over the Lakeshore would be great in case any member of ‘R’ shows up.

You will decide to see if Barnaby is up for the task.

You’ll approach him and say that you have a favor to ask him.

He will be excited to hear that, and he will instantly start guessing what the favor is.

Eventually, he will ask you to tell him about it.

Ben will inform him about your plan and ask if he would be willing to watch your backs once you enter the Black Lake.

Barnaby will be slightly disappointed by this request.

Apparently, he was hoping he will get the chance to go with you into the lake, so he will be slightly disappointed.

You will suggest discussing it over a game of Gobstones.

The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.

This will be fairly similar to a regular game of Gobstones. Simply pick the options that will show Barnaby how important it is to have him watch your back. Below are some of the questions and the answers to them.

When you finish the game, Barnaby will be happy to accompany you and guard the Lakeshore while the rest of you look for the final vault.

According to Ben, you are ready to head into the Black Lake.

Still, there is another person you’ll want to talk to before that.

And that person is none other than Jacob.

Perhaps he will be willing to join you on this mission.

You will have to wait four hours until Jacob is ready to meet with you. Since this chapter is not time-limited, it is recommended to wait until the timer runs out.

Once the waiting time is over, proceed to the Lakeshore to meet with Jacob.

You will wonder if Jacob managed to pick Rakepick’s trail. After all, it’s been a while ever since you last saw him.

You will take out your wand and cast Vermillious to draw his attention.

The spell will work, and moments later, Jacob will arrive.

As it seems, he is still looking for Rakepick. He’ll be curious to know why you wanted to meet him.

You will quickly tell him you are about to head to the final Cursed Vault.

He will inform you that ‘R’ likely knows what you’re up to.

You will ask him to tell you more.

Catching up with Jacob requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

There are two 5-cost actions linked to your character. Prioritize your own actions if you want to save some energy.

You will ask Jacob if he would be willing to look for the final Cursed Vault with you and your friends.

Before answering your question, he will be interested to know why you want him to go with you. There are three options to reply with. While all of these will lead to a similar outcome, it is somewhat recommended to pick the second option, especially if you like Jacob.

In the end, Jacob will agree to accompany you.

Moments later, you will notice your friends arriving.

You will be very surprised to see them.

Merula will say it is time to look for the final vault.

Ben will inform you that the lyre is fixed, and the tribute for the Merqueen is ready.

Jae used the Shrinking Charm to reduce the size of the items so that they could be transported easily.

Barnaby will say that he’s ready to keep watch.

Jacob will ask if you are ready to head into the lake.

You will nod and say there’s only one thing left to do.

You’ll take out your wand and cast the Bubble-Head Charm.

All of your friends will do the same, and you will finally be ready to go into the Black Lake and search for the final Cursed Vault.
