Chapter 6
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Six of Year Six of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. Last time, you learned that Bill is back at Hogwarts. You also found out he’s planning to teach you and your friends some defensive spells that might come in handy against ‘R’. Other than that, Percy informed you that twins are missing, so you went with one of the Weasley brothers to look for Fred and George. Eventually, you found them inside the Red Cap’s hole. They told you that they followed Jacob into Forbidden Forest. After talking to them for a bit, you decided to see if the caretaker knows something about Jacob’s sudden return. However, before you do that, you can complete the lessons first. Proceed to Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom when you are ready.

It’s time for another one of Bill’s lessons. Thankfully, this one doesn’t require unlocking. In order to learn the Ear-Shrivelling curse, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting it if you are out of energy.

Seeing Bill teach is a sight for sore eyes, so this class certainly has quite a unique feel to it. As always, focus on 5-cost actions whenever you can.

Also, try completing all of the mini-tasks to earn some bonus Courage points.

Once you earn the fifth star, you’ll be tasked with demonstrating the spell. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

When you are ready, head to the Charms classroom for your second lesson of the chapter.

To unlock the Knitting Charm lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from Charms classes. Pick the class duration you prefer and hit the Start to begin.

Charms classes generally have plenty of 5-cost actions, so be sure to prioritize them.

As always, completing all of the mini-tasks will grant you some nice additional Empathy points.

Return to the classroom once you obtain enough stars to unlock the lesson.

To learn the Knitting Charm, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting the lesson if your energy bar is empty.

Other than a few mini-tasks and the stars requirement, this lesson is quite similar to most of the regular classes.

Once you obtain all five stars, you’ll need to cast Knitting Charm. Trace the wand movement on the screen to do so.

Now that you are done with the lessons, proceed to the caretaker’s office to continue the story.

Moments after entering his office, you’ll realize that Mr. Filch isn’t too eager to help you. In fact, he’ll actually accuse you of setting off a dungbomb in the Gryffindor Common Room.

As you learned in the previous chapter, the ones responsible for that are Fred and George. You’ll then get to choose if you want to rat them out to Filch or take the blame yourself. While this choice won’t have any immediate consequences, it will be referenced in the future, so choose carefully.

You’ll then get to talk to Filch about your brother. Doing that requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

The only 5-cost action here is tied to your character, so prioritize it if you want to save some energy.

Once you’re done, you’ll learn that Jacob was likely in the Library recently.

Luckily, Filch will let you go, regardless of the previous choice.

You’ll have to wait three hours before you can continue. This shouldn’t be a problem since it takes roughly three hours for your energy to fully replenish.

Once the waiting time is over, proceed to the Library to see if Madam Pince knows anything.

Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters before continuing.

After asking her, Madam Pince will confirm that she actually saw Jacob.

She’ll also tell you that Jacob was one of her favorite students.

She’ll ask if you find this surprising. You have two options to respond with, but these won’t affect the story in any significant way, so feel free to pick either option.

You’ll then get to ask her more while helping her reorganize the books. Doing that requires earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.

There should be plenty of 5-cost actions available here which should make things a bit easier.

When you are done, you’ll learn that Jacob was looking for some books.

However, he left once Madam Pince told him he should see the Headmaster.

You’ll quickly realize where Jacob was likely headed next.

Proceed to Flourish and Blotts when you’re ready.

As you arrive, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.

Madam Villanelle will inform you that Jacob just left the book store.

Apparently, he was looking for some very specific books.

This will immediately remind you of Mundungus Fletcher’s attacker.

Shortly after, you’ll decide to search the store and see if Jacob left any message for you.

Doing that requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.

There are two 5-cost actions here, one tied to the bookshelf and one to your character.

Sadly, you won’t be able to find any messages after searching the place.

Madam Villanelle will ask if you think that Jacob is avoiding you on purpose. This choice will have no impact on the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

Not long after that, you’ll decide to go to Knockturn Alley to see if you can find Jacob there.

However, there is a waiting period of four hours before you can do that. Once again, it is recommended simply to wait for this timer to expire since your energy will replenish in the meantime.

Once the waiting time is over, proceed to Knockturn Alley.

Upon arriving, you’ll notice Merula standing near Borgin and Burkes. As it seems, she has her eyes set on one particular necklace.

You’ll tell her that you’re looking for Jacob.

Before she had the chance to say anything, Jacob will appear out of nowhere.

He’ll tell you he was too preoccupied chasing Rakepick, which is why he hasn’t contacted you ever since he disappeared.

He’ll then say that two of you need to duel.

Apparently, both you and Merula are in danger, and he wants to make sure you’re able to defend yourself.

The task window will display the recommended attribute levels as well as the cost of each attempt.

This is one of the most difficult duels so far. First of all, Jacob’s attributes are very high (25 each), so that might be problematic for some players who rushed through the game. Also, he is very unpredictable, meaning you’ll have to rely entirely on luck to defeat him. On top of that, he has a spell in Sneaky stance which deals 20 damage, and that can be quite devastating, so try not to rely on Defensive stance too much unless you need to heal yourself. It might take you a couple of tries, but eventually, you should be able to defeat him.

Once you manage to defeat him, Jacob will admit he’s impressed with your skills.

Sadly, he’ll say he must go, so you won’t get any answers about the mysterious assassin.

Moments later, he’ll disappear.

You’ll then learn that Merula is quite fond of your brother.

In fact, she might even be fancying Jacob.

Shortly after, she’ll tell you about a first-year student named Cedric Diggory.

Not long after that, Chapter 6 will end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

You finally got to see Jacob again. But sadly, you weren’t able to get any answers from him. Will you get to meet Cedric Diggory soon? Is he really as popular as Merula claims? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery!
Thank you for reading.
