Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Nine of Year Six of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery. In the previous chapter, you started the search for the white owl. You got to catch up with Talbott in the Owlery, and you managed to locate the owl in the Forbidden Forest. Sadly, it flew away, so you had to search elsewhere. Eventually, the search led you to Hog’s Head Inn where you learned that the owl likely belongs to Patricia Rakepick. Not just that, but you also learned that she recently left towards Knockturn Alley, so you decided to follow her. But, before that, you can deal with the lessons first. Head to the Training Grounds when you are ready.
To unlock Taking Passengers lesson, you need to earn nine stars from Flying classes. As always, pick the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.
Prioritize 5-cost actions whenever they are available to save some energy.
Also, try to complete all of the mini-tasks to gain some extra Courage points.
Once you obtain all of the required stars, head back to the Training Grounds to attend the lesson.
To pass Taking Passengers lesson, you need to earn five stars within eight hours.
Other than a few mini-tasks and the passing requirement, this lesson is fairly similar to most of the regular classes.
Once you obtain the fifth star, you’ll be tasked to fly together with Rowan. Trace the path on the screen to do so.
When you are done, proceed to the Transfiguration classroom for the next lesson.
To unlock Avis lesson you need to acquire nine stars from Transfiguration classes. Like before, select the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.
As always, focus on 5-cost actions if you are looking to save some energy.
And try your best to do all of the mini-tasks successfully to gain some additional Knowledge points.
Return to the classroom to attend the lesson once you unlock it.
To learn the Bird-Conjuring charm, you need to obtain five stars within three hours. All of the stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting the lesson if you are low on energy.
Since this one is not much different from regular classes, you shouldn’t have trouble completing it.
Upon earning all of the stars, you’ll be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement to do so.
Now that the lessons are out of the way, you can proceed to Knockturn Alley to look for Rakepick.
Upon arriving, you’ll notice the speech bubbles above some of the Knockturn denizens. Tap on those if you want to see what they have to say.
Instead of Rakepick, you’ll find Ben here, still interrogating Dark witches and wizards.
Sadly, he didn’t see Rakepick, which is a bit odd, considering what Aberforth said.
Shortly after, you’ll inform him that there’s an assassin after you and Merula.
Apparently, he’ll be exciting to hear that. You have two options to react to this, but none of these will influence the story, so feel free to take your pick.
You’ll also inform him about the threatening message you received.
It looks like Ben is ready for the worst.
You’ll also tell him that owl likely belongs to Rakepick.
Ben will mention that Mundungus Fletcher could tell you where to look, but sadly, he is nowhere to be seen.
You’ll suggest asking around to see if anyone’s seen Rakepick.
Asking around requires obtaining one out of five stars within three hours.
There are 5-cost actions tied to your character and one Dark Witch. Prioritize those to save some energy.
Once you’re done, Ben will point out at one awfully suspicious Dark Witch.
Upon threatening her, she’ll start explaining herself.
However, there’s no way she’d know all that unless…
…unless she’s someone else in disguise. Trace the wand movement to cast Revelio.
The spell will work, and the witch will be revealed to be none other than Mundungus Fletcher!
It looks like he’s still in hiding.
And the one he’s hiding from is the very one you’re after.
You’ll ask him about Rakepick and the white owl.
The owl apparently doesn’t belong to her, but to someone else, someone far more dangerous.
Also, you will learn that Rakepick went after the Dark artefacts she left behind.
This means you have to hurry if you want to find the final vault before her.
There is a waiting period of three hours before you can proceed. Simply wait for the timer to expire and let your energy regenerate in the process.
Once the waiting time is over, head to Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom to look for Dark artefacts.
When you get there, you’ll find Bill in the classroom. Thankfully, he is eager and willing to help you look for the Dark artefacts.
Searching for Dark artefacts requires earning one out of five stars within three hours.
Two of the artefacts have 5-cost actions tied to them, so prioritize these in order to save some energy.
When you are done with the search, you’ll realize that Rakepick’s Dark artefacts are nowhere to be found.
Bill will suggest asking Filch. Perhaps he knows where the artefacts are.
Moments later, the most powerful witch at Hogwarts will arrive and she’ll assume Bill is secretly teaching you some spells.
You’ll explain to her that’s not the case, and you’ll tell her what Rakepick is up to.
However, she’ll still be angry you didn’t tell her earlier. You have three options to respond with. None of these will influence the outcome of the story, so feel free to pick the one you prefer.
You’ll tell her that you’re planning to ask Filch about Rakepick’s Dark artefacts. Needless to say, she’ll want to go as well.
There is a waiting period of one hour before you can proceed. Since your energy is likely low after completing the previous task, it is recommended to wait until this timer runs out and regenerate some energy in the process.
Head to the caretaker’s office once you’re able to continue.
Upon arriving, you’ll realize that Filch is not in his office, so you’ll have to wait until he gets back.
This will create a bit of an awkward situation between you and Merula.
She’ll break the silence by asking you about Jacob.
Apparently, she’s curious if he’ll be visiting soon.
Could it be that the most powerful witch at Hogwarts is having a crush on your brother?
Of course, she’ll deny everything.
If you completed First Date adventure, and if Merula was your date, you’re in for some extra lines of dialogue.
She’ll assume you’re jealous. You have two options to respond with. If you like Merula, it is highly recommended to pick the first choice. Otherwise, you can pick either option.
Moments later, the caretaker will enter the office.
You’ll quickly explain the situation.
Surprisingly enough, he’ll agree to tell you where the artefacts are.
Talking to Filch about the Dark artefacts requires earning five stars within an hour. One star is needed to pass.
If you want to save some energy, you can simply earn one star and wait for the timer to expire. That way, you will have full energy before the next task, and since there’s no waiting time, it is recommended to do that.
Apparently, Filch didn’t do anything with Rakepick’s artefacts, so you’ll have to look for them elsewhere.
Next, you should seek out Professor Snape’s help. Proceed to the Potions classroom when you are ready.
Merula will immediately notice that Professor Snape is brewing Veritaserum.
You’ll tell him you’re looking for Rakepick’s Dark artefacts, and you’ll also inform him of her plan.
Much to your surprise, he’ll agree to tell you more about Rakepick’s Dark artefacts.
Talking to Professor Snape requires earning at least one out of five stars within three hours.
There are 5-cost actions tied to all three of you, which will make this task a bit easier to complete.
When you are done, you will learn that Rakepick cursed her Dark artefacts.
Sadly, the Potions Master was unable to break these curses.
You’ll ask him if he’ll allow you to try, but he’ll be quite confident you won’t be able to do so. You have three options to respond with. None of these will affect the story in any significant way, so feel free to pick whichever one you prefer.
You’ll also learn that Professor Dumbledore was the one who took care of Rakepick’s Dark artefacts.
So, your next stop is the Headmaster’s office. Proceed there when you are ready.
Apparently, he’s quite aware you’ve been searching for Rakepick’s Dark artefacts.
He’ll remind you once again that you should be studying, and not searching for Dark artefacts.
Professor Dumbledore will ask if you’ve forgotten your earlier conversation with him. There are three response options, but none of these will have any big influence on the story, so take your pick.
In any case, he’ll decide to tell you what he did with Rapepick’s artefacts.
Talking to Dumbledore requires earning five stars within three hours. Only one star is needed to pass.
Once again, there are quite a few 5-cost actions here, which will make things easier for you.
It seems that the Dark artefacts are now stored at the Ministry of Magic.
Once again, he’ll advise you to stop worrying about everything related to Cursed Vaults and to focus on some other things.
While you’ll promise to visit the Library, Merula won’t be willing to just give up on her revenge.
There is a waiting period of three hours before you’re able to continue. Once again, it is recommended simply to wait until the waiting time is over since your energy will take roughly three hours to fully recharge.
Proceed to the Library once you’re able to continue.
Upon arriving, you’ll be able to interact with some of the characters.
You’ll ask Tulip and Percy to share some information about the Ministry of Magic with you.
Your Ravenclaw friend will be curious to know why are you so interested in learning about the Ministry.
And you’ll start explaining.
Percy will be shocked to hear about your plan.
However, after some convincing, he’ll agree to help you.
Tulip, on the other hand, won’t hesitate to offer her help.
To discuss the Ministry with them, you need to obtain five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass.
As long as you started this task with a full energy bar, you should easily be able to complete it in one go.
When you are done, you’ll realize that the only way to get into the Ministry is to get help from someone on the inside.
Sadly, Tulip’s parents know about you, and getting help from them is a no-go.
Also, Percy doesn’t want to put his father’s job at risk by helping you.
Luckily, Tulip knows one person who might be able to help you.
And that person is none other than former Ravenclaw Prefect, Chester Davies.
With this, Chapter 9 of Year 6 will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
Investigating Hogwarts grounds for the Cursed Vaults is one thing, but getting into the Ministry of Magic is something entirely different. Will Chester agree to meet with you? How will he react once you tell him what you’re planning to do? Will he be willing to help you? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery!
