Chapter 1
Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter One of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. A lot has happened during the previous year. With the help of your friends, you managed to find the final Cursed Vault and break the Statue Curse. You also made sure that Rakepick got what she deserves for what she did to Rowan. Unfortunately, you learned that the Hogwarts mole who’s been feeding information to ‘R’ is none other than Merula. She agreed to join ‘R’’s ranks to gain more power. And not only that, but she also promised to bring you into the fold. Now is the time to start the final year of your Hogwarts studies. Shortly after starting, you will find yourself in the Great Hall. Still, you can take care of the lessons before the Start-of-Term feast begins. Head to the Charms classroom when you are ready to attend the first lesson of the chapter.

To unlock the Ascendio lesson, you need to acquire nine stars from the Charms classes. Select the class duration you prefer and hit Start to begin.

Prioritize 5-cost actions whenever they are available in order to save as much energy as possible.

Each successful mini-task will award you some Empathy points, so try your best to complete them all.

Return to the classroom once you obtain enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Learning how to cast Ascendio requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why it’s recommended not to start this lesson if your energy is low.

Professor Flitwick will ask you a question during the lesson, so be sure to answer it correctly.

Once you earn the fifth star, you will be tasked with performing the spell. Trace the wand movement to cast Ascendio.

Proceed to the Astronomy Tower when you are ready to attend the second lesson of the chapter.

To unlock the Dark Cloud Constellations lesson, you need to obtain a total of nine stars from the Astronomy classes. Pick the class duration suitable to your liking and hit Start to begin.

Like before, focus on completing as many 5-cost actions as possible if you want to save some energy.

As for the mini-tasks, these will award you some Knowledge points upon successful completion, so try your best to complete them all.

Return to the Astronomy Tower when you obtain enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Completing the Dark Cloud Constellations lesson requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

During the lesson, Professor Sinistra will ask you a question related to its topic.

Once you are done, proceed to the Great Hall to meet with your friends.

When you arrive, you will be able to interact with some of the characters by tapping on the speech bubbles above them.

Both Penny and Ben will greet you warmly.

You’ll be happy to see your friends once again, now that the summer break is over.

You will ask if they had a nice time during the summer.

Penny will say that she found the break quite relaxing, especially since you’re finally done with the Cursed Vaults.

As for Ben, he’ll find it hard to believe.

The choice you’ve made during the previous year will take effect here.

You will try to point out that members of ‘R’ are still out there and are more than likely up to something.

However, Penny will cut your sentence short and ask you to focus on what’s important – your seventh year at Hogwarts.

You’ll find it hard to believe that you’re almost done with your Hogwarts life.

Penny will be curious to know what you’re most excited about for your final Hogwarts year. There are three options to choose from. None of these will impact the story in any significant way, so feel free to take your pick.

Shortly after, Ben will suggest checking in with the rest of your friends.

This requires earning five stars within an hour. Only one star is needed to pass.

Normally, it would be recommended to earn a single star and let the timer expire. However, there is a waiting period following this task, which is why it’s recommended to complete it as soon as possible.

After getting to talk to your friends, you will realize that all of them were fairly busy during the summer.

You’ll notice that Merula is not in the Great Hall.

You will wonder if anyone saw her around.

Penny will say that the last time she saw Merula was during the party at the Three Broomsticks.

Unfortunately, Ben didn’t see her either. He’ll wonder why you’re curious about her so much.

Before getting to answer his question, the Headmaster will start his announcement.

He will welcome everyone to the start of a new year at Hogwarts.

He’ll share some words of wisdom with everyone.

As for the seventh-year students, he will announce that he’s made some special arrangements to grant them the opportunity to explore various wizarding professions.

Penny will be incredibly excited to hear that.

Professor Dumbledore will say a few more words before the Welcome Feast starts.

Penny will smile from ear to ear and say how happy she is to get the chance to explore careers.

You’ll admit you’re also looking forward to it.

After all, it will be a refreshing change after having to worry so much about the Cursed Vaults.

You will once again try to talk to them about ‘R’.

Penny will interrupt you, saying that Merula has arrived.

She’ll point out it’s very odd no one has heard from Merula for so long.

You will tell her you were thinking about the same thing, and you’ll decide to gather the Circle of Khanna in the Clocktower Courtyard.

It will take four hours for Penny to gather everyone. Since you’ll likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy replenish in the meantime.

Proceed to the Clocktower Courtyard once the waiting time is over.

You will notice the speech bubbles above some of your friends. You can tap on those if you are interested to see what they have to say.

You’ll thank everyone for taking their time to meet with you.

You will inform your friends there is something important you wish to discuss with them.

Penny will say it can’t be more important than Professor Dumbledore’s announcement.

Sadly, you won’t get the chance to tell them about what happened near the end of the previous year.

You’ll then decide to ask your friends about the careers they are looking forward to.

Barnaby will be the first one to share his career interests.

He will be incredibly excited about getting the chance to explore careers involving creatures.

Tonks will cheerfully chuckle at your creature-loving friend.

Barnaby will admit he just likes creatures very much.

Penny will be curious about everyone else’s career interests, and she will suggest talking about it.

Sharing career interests requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. Also, there are 5-cost actions linked to Chiara and your characters. Prioritize those if you are looking to save as much energy as possible.

You will be surprised how diverse everyone’s job interests are.

Penny will chuckle and say that all of your friends chose clubs according to their interests.

After talking to them for a bit, you will decide to tell them why you wanted to assemble the Circle of Khanna.

Ben will point out that most of Circle’s members are present.

You’ll ask Barnaby if he had the chance to talk to Merula recently.

Unfortunately, he did not since she was too busy during the summer break.

You will ask if he has any idea what she’s been busy with.

Sadly, he won’t be able to answer your question.

Penny will point out that you should probably disband the Circle of Khanna. You can choose to agree with her or not. Unfortunately, regardless of your choice, your friends will think it’s for the best to take a much-deserved break from adventuring and focus on the final Hogwarts year.

In the end, Ben will suggest talking about it later.

Your friends will point out that chasing Dark witches and wizard isn’t something any of you should be doing.

Moments later, all of them will leave the Courtyard.

You’ll think for a while and decide to talk to Jacob about Merula.

Proceed to the Hog’s Head Inn once you’re ready to meet with your brother.

When you arrive, you’ll be able to interact with some of your friends and see what they have to say.

Upon greeting Jacob, you’ll tell him there’s something important you want to talk to him about.

Thankfully, he’ll be more than willing to hear what you have to say.

Suddenly, Mad-Eye Moody will arrive and join you at the table. Needless to say, you’ll be surprised by his sudden arrival.

As it seems, he has some news about ‘R’.

According to him, members of ‘R’ has been very active recently.

Apparently, there are things other than the Cursed Vaults they are interested in.

You’ll tell Mad-Eye Moody there’s something you saw near the end of last year. Something related to the Hogwarts mole.

Talking about the mole requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Mad-Eye Moody and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You’ll sum things up once you’re done.

You will say that the two of them are the only people you’ve told about Merula. You’ll also tell them that you haven’t confronted her about it yet.

Jacob will point out it’s a good thing because you have the advantage.

He’ll ask how you’re feeling about learning that Merula might’ve joined ‘R’. There are two options to choose from. There is no wrong answer here. Simply follow your feelings and be honest with him.

You’ll also say that your friends want to disband the Circle of Khanna and move on.

You will be sad there’s nobody you can talk about it at Hogwarts.

Mad-Eye Moody will say that he can relate to that.

You’ll ask him to advise you what to do.

He’ll suggest talking to someone at Hogwarts you’ve never talked to before, but without revealing the details.

You’ll smile at him, thankful for the advice he gave you.

Jacob will change the subject and remind you that you’re in your final Hogwarts year.

You’ll tell him about Professor Dumbledore’s announcement.

Mad-Eye Moody will say that you might want to check out the Ministry of Magic.

According to Jacob, there are plenty of things that you should be looking forward to in your seventh year.

Mad-Eye Moody will ask you to inform him should you learn anything new about Merula.

You will nod and decide to head back to the castle.

There is a waiting period of three hours before you can continue. Since you are probably low on energy, it is recommended to wait and let your energy replenish in the meantime.

Head to the History of Magic classroom once the waiting time is over.

Upon arriving, you will be able to interact with some of your classmates and see what they have to say.

Tulip will happily greet you shortly after you arrive. This dialogue will be slightly different if your character is a Head Boy/Girl.

You will be curious why everyone is in the classroom so early.

Tulip will say they’re listening to Corey talk about some Dark wizard.

Unfortunately, you didn’t get the opportunity to meet Corey yet.

You’ll be curious to know which Dark wizard Corey is talking about.

Moments later, you will get your answer.

You’ll decide to listen to what Corey has to say.

Learning about Emeric the Evil requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass. Because of that, it’s recommended not to start this task with an empty energy bar.

There are 5-cost actions linked to Corey and Gryffindor Lad. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You will find Corey’s lecture about Emeric the Evil very informative.

Corey will be glad that you liked it.

Since this is the first time the two of you had a conversation, Corey will decide that the introductions are in order.

Corey’s gender will be determined by your character’s gender. If your character is a witch, Corey will be a wizard and a Head Boy. If your character is a wizard, Corey will be a witch and a Head Girl. Some of the dialogue lines will differ if your character is a Head Boy/Girl or a Prefect.

Apparently, Corey decided to share some interesting facts about Emeric the Evil with others since Professor Binns would more than likely fall asleep during his lecture.

You’ll ask if there’s any chance the two of you can talk about Emeric the Evil’s motivations.

Corey will tell you that Emeric was once the master of the Elder Wand, and he was feared across the country.

Unfortunately, little is known about his true motivations.

You’ll be curious to know why someone would turn evil just for the sake of power and control.

Corey will tell you that not everything is purely black and white. There are all kinds of things that could influence a person to seek power.

Corey will ask if there is any particular reason why you’re so interested in Emeric the Evil’s motivations. There are three options to reply with. None of these will have any big impact on the story, so feel free to pick whichever option you prefer.

You will thank Corey for taking the time to talk to you.

Moments later, Merula will arrive and say that she knows you’ve been looking for her.

You’ll be surprised to finally see her.

She’ll say that she’s ready to talk and ask if there’s anything specific you want to discuss.

This will conclude Chapter 1 of Year 7. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.

What will happen next? Will you confront Merula about what you saw near the end of last year? Or will you follow Jacob’s advice and avoid mentioning it? Find out in the next chapter of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery!
