Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Chapter Seventeen of Year Seven of Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery. Previously, you talked to Professor Dumbledore about the upcoming Wizengamot trial. After sharing some of his wisdom with you, he advised you to have a word with Merula. You found the Most Powerful Witch at Hogwarts practicing on the training grounds, and you talked to her about the recent events. Once again, you tried talking to her about Ismelda and the Wampus Cat incident, but unfortunately, it only made her mad. You then went to meet with Corey and talk about everything that happened. Once you entered the Great Hall, you saw a lot of students gathered around an unfamiliar-looking person. Corey told you that a person in question is Victor Ketsueki, a seventh-year Ravenclaw, who became popular after supposedly getting turned into a vampire during the summer holiday. You talked to Corey about Merula, and after discussing what to do next, Corey suggested checking the Whomping Willow for new letters. The two of you went there and found a black quill after searching the place. Upon untransfiguring it, you realized it is a message from ‘R’. You also figured out that Merula wants to cut ties with them after what happened to Ismelda. Later on, Corey and you met in the Artefact Room to discuss what to do next. After talking about it for a while, Corey suggested asking Merula to become an informant. Unfortunately, before you were able to discuss the idea, a Doxy flew out of the nearby cabinet and bit Corey’s arm. You immediately took Corey to the Hospital Wing, which was the end of the chapter. Now is the time to continue where you left off. Proceed to the Charms Classroom when you are ready.

To unlock the Anti-Alohomora Charm lesson, you will need to obtain nine stars from Charms classes. Pick the class duration suitable to your liking, and hit Start to begin.

As always, prioritize 5-cost actions to save as much energy as possible.

Try your best to complete all the mini-tasks successfully to earn some extra Empathy points.

Once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson, return to the classroom to attend it.

Learning the Anti-Alohomora Charm requires earning five stars within three hours. Since all five stars are needed to pass, avoid starting this task if you are low on energy.

Other than the star requirement, this lesson is fairly similar to most other classes. Once you earn all five stars, you will be tasked with casting the spell. Trace the wand movement to do so.

You will earn the achievement for completing the lesson.

For the next lesson, proceed to the Herbology classroom when you are ready.

Unlocking the Asphodel lesson requires earning nine stars from Herbology classes. Select the class duration you prefer, and hit Start when you are ready to begin.

Prioritize 5-cost actions if you are looking to save some energy.

Each mini-task you complete successfully will award you some Empathy points.

Return to the classroom once you earn enough stars to unlock the lesson.

Completing the Asphodel lesson requires obtaining five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, which is why you shouldn’t start this task if you are low on energy.

During the lesson, Professor Sprout will ask you a question about the asphodel plant.

Once you complete the lesson, you will earn the achievement.

Now that the lessons are out of the way, you can visit Corey in the Hospital Wing.

Upon arriving, you will notice the speech bubbles above some of the characters. Tap on those if you are curious to see what they have to say.

You will ask Corey if she is feeling any better.

Thankfully, she will feel much better, thanks to Madam Pomfrey.

She’ll even say that she’s looking forward to continuing the investigation.

Madam Pomfrey will remind her that she should be resting.

You will agree with her about that.

After all, you can continue the investigation once Corey is fully recovered.

Corey will not like the idea of having to rest for a while.

However, Madam Pomfrey will firmly tell her to stay in bed.

As it seems, Corey wasn’t the only victim of Doxy bites.

You will be surprised to hear that.

Madam Pomfrey will say that she had to ask some students to help her deal with the situation.

Corey will admit that she’s impressed by Victor.

You will ask Madam Pomfrey if having so many cases of Doxy bites means there is a Doxy infestation.

According to her, it is quite likely.

She will kindly ask you to help out if want to continue asking questions.

You’ll be more than happy to lend a hand.

Helping Madam Pomfrey requires earning five stars within three hours. All five stars are needed to pass, so avoid starting this task if you are out of energy.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions tied to Madam Pomfrey and your character. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

You will sum up the most important things after talking to everyone.

Andre will tell you that he got bitten while looking through his collection of fabric.

You will decide to solve the mystery and figure out what’s going on.

Corey will eagerly offer her help.

You’ll remind her of Madam Pomfrey’s words.

After all, you’ve faced far more dangerous threats than Doxies.

Corey will ask if you think that ‘R’ might be responsible for the Doxy infestation. There are two options to reply with. This choice won’t significantly impact the story, so feel free to pick the option you prefer.

In any case, you will promise to keep an eye out. Corey will ask you to inform her in case you find out anything.

She will also say that you need to figure out if you want to ask Merula to be a double agent.

You’ll decide to wait with that until the Doxy infestation is over.

After all, everyone’s safety is definitely more important.

You’ll decide to have a word with Professor Kettleburn and see if he can help you.

Proceed to Care of Magical Creatures when you are ready.

Upon arriving, you will notice Chiara talking to Professor Kettleburn. The Professor will ask if you’ve also come to talk about the Doxy infestation.

As it seems, Chiara wants to help with the problem.

She was with Andre when he was bitten, so she decided to investigate the matter and help in any way she can.

She’ll ask if you would be willing to team up with her.

Professor Kettleburn will also say a few words.

You will be more than happy to work with Chiara on solving the problem.

She’ll be glad to hear that.

You will then ask Professor Kettleburn to tell you everything he knows about Doxies.

He’ll agree to that, but in return, you will need to help him feed the Fire Crabs.

Feeding the Fire Crabs requires earning five stars within eight hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

There are 5-cost actions tied to the Fire Crab and a bag of creature food. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

You will figure out that you’ll need more than just the Knockback Jinx to deal with the Doxy infestation.

Professor Kettleburn will chuckle and say that you can still technically use the Knockback Jinx to solve the problem. However, it would take a long time to deal with the infestation that way.

Chiara will recall you learning a potion that could help with the Doxy infestation during your third year.

She’ll ask if you remember the name of that potion. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is Doxycide.

Professor Kettleburn will award you with 5 house points if you answer the question correctly.

You’ll wonder where you can get Doxycide.

Chiara will assume that Professor Snape has some.

Professor Kettleburn will say that you’ll need a lot of Doxycide to deal with the infestation.

He will advise you to ask Professor Sprout for the ingredients.

You will be quite confident that she will be willing to help.

Chiara will decide to send her an owl to inform her that the two of you will be visiting.

You will need to wait four hours until Professor Sprout is ready to see you. Since you will likely be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait and let your energy recharge in the meantime.

Proceed to the greenhouse once the waiting time is over.

Professor Sprout will happily greet you when you arrive.

Apparently, she asked Barnaby to help with gathering the ingredients.

Chiara will thank Professor Sprout for agreeing to help.

The Professor will humbly say that she is simply doing her job.

Hopefully, you will be able to fix the problem before more students end up in the Hospital Wing.

Thankfully, with Barnaby’s help, you should be able to gather the ingredients in no time.

Chiara will list the necessary ingredients.

Shortly after, all of you will get to work. Collecting the ingredients requires earning five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions linked to Chiara and some plants near Barnaby. Focus on those if you want to save some energy.

Luckily, you will be able to gather enough ingredients for Doxycide.

You’ll recall Barnaby saying something about feeling guilty.

He will say that he knows who might be responsible for the Doxy infestation.

He will admit he accidentally brought a Doxy into the castle.

Apparently, the creature somehow snuck into his pocket, and he didn’t realize it until it was too late.

He will apologize for causing the whole mess. There are two options for you to reply with. If you like Barnaby, it is highly recommended to go with the first option.

In any case, you will say that the most important thing is to stop the infestation.

Thankfully, you got the ingredients you need.

Professor Sprout will point out that you don’t have all the ingredients.

Unfortunately, she is out of Bundimun Ooze, so you will need to find it elsewhere.

You will wonder where to find it.

Barnaby will suggest looking for Bundimuns at Hagrid’s garden.

You will recall helping Hagrid with a Bundimun infestation during your fourth year.

Perhaps checking the place might be a good idea?

You will decide to go to Hagrid’s garden and see if you can find any Bundimun there.

Proceed there when you are ready to continue.

Shortly after arriving, Chiara will notice that Barnaby is upset about something.

You’ll reassure him that everything will be all right.

Still, your friend will feel bad about causing the whole mess.

Chiara will remind him that it was an accident.

If you didn’t blame Barnaby earlier, your character will be sure to mention it.

Moments later, you will spot a Bundimun nearby.

You will quickly try to catch it.

Catching the Bundimun requires earning five stars within eight hours. All five stars are needed to pass.

Make sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions tied to your character, Barnaby, and Chiara. Prioritize those if you want to save as much energy as possible.

You will take out your wand and cast the Stunning Spell on the Bundimun. Trace the wand movement to do so.

The spell will work as intended, and you will manage to catch the Bundimun.

All that’s left is to extract some ooze.

Chiara will admit that she doesn’t remember learning how to do that.

Fortunately, Barnaby might be able to help.

He’ll explain that his grandmother taught him how to catch the Bundimuns.

You’ll recall that Bundimun ooze is acidic.

Luckily, Barnaby brought his dragon-hide gloves, which should prevent him from getting injured while gathering the ooze.

Moments later, he will gather enough Bundimun ooze for a big batch of Doxycide.

Chiara and Barnaby will decide to head back to the Hospital Wing and see if Madam Pomfrey needs any help.

In the meantime, you will go to the Potions classroom and start brewing the Doxycide.

You will need to wait three hours until Professor Snape is ready to see you. Since you will probably be low on energy at this point, it is recommended to wait, and let your energy replenish in the meantime.

Head to the Potions classroom once the waiting time is over.

You will tell Snape that you have enough Bundimun ooze for the Doxycide.

The Professor will praise you… in his own way.

You will notice that Ben is also in the classroom.

He’ll calmly say that he wants to help.

Professor Snape will ask him about the first step of brewing Doxycide.

Ben will confidently answer the question.

Snape will then ask you about the next step. There are three options to choose from. The correct answer is “Add Streeler shells”.

Shortly after, you will start brewing the Doxycide.

To do that, you will need to earn five stars within three hours. Three stars are needed to pass.

Be sure to slide the screen left and right to see all the available actions. There are 5-cost actions tied to Professor Snape, Ben, and your character. Prioritize those if you want to save some energy.

Thankfully, everything will go according to plan, and you will end up brewing enough Doxycide to deal with the infestation.

According to Professor Snape, the batch you brewed should be potent enough to neutralize the Doxy Queen.

This will be the first time you’ll hear about the Doxy Queen.

Ben will provide the explanation.

Professor Snape will say that you need to deal with the Doxy Queen in order to stop the infestation.

You will be determined to track her down and save the school.

Moments later, Chiara will enter the classroom.

She will say that Doxies have been spotted in Peeves’ room.

You’ll decide to head there immediately.

With some luck, you might even find the Doxy Queen there.

This will conclude Chapter 17 of Year 7. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
