Your first task involves attending Potions class, so go to the classroom when you are ready. Once you enter the classroom, you can check what some of the characters have to say by tapping on the speech bubbles above their heads.
You will be surprised to see Barnaby at your table. He will tell you that Professor Snape moved his seat because he was even more annoying than usual.
Barnaby will be worried, and he’ll ask you if you think he is annoying as well. If you like Barnaby, it is recommended to choose the first option. Bear in mind that you need to have a level 10 friendship with Barnaby to select this option.
Soon after, Professor Snape will announce today’s class topic, which is brewing the Draught of Living Death. He will remind students that this lesson is extremely important because those who pass it will be well-prepared for the Potions N.E.W.T.
To complete this task, you’ll need to earn five stars within eight hours. Three stars are required to pass.
The only action with bonus progress is tied to Professor Snape. Prioritize his actions to save some energy.
Professor Snape will be disappointed with how Barnaby failed to brew the potion. He’ll even call him an embarrassment for the Lee family. He will give him a deadline to learn how to brew the Draught of Living Death until the next Potions class, where Barnaby should demonstrate his knowledge. If he fails that task as well, your friend will fail Potions.
You’ll decide to help Barnaby. First, meet him in the Library. At the Library, you’ll find your friend having trouble studying the Draught of Living Death, considering he picked the wrong book.
You will reassure Barnaby, and you’ll start studying the correct recipe with him. To complete the next task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.
Bonus progress actions will be tied to Barnaby. Prioritize his actions to save a bit of energy.
You will test Barnaby’s knowledge. You’ll notice that he is getting better but still needs improvement. He will be very worried about passing the next Potions class, because if he fails, he will never be able to fulfill his dreams of becoming a celebrated Magizoologist.
You’ll try to reassure your friend. This choice won’t significantly affect the story, so pick the option you like.
You’ll find out that Barnaby is more of a practical learner. He enjoys learning by doing rather than reading.
You’ll decide to ask for help with a hands-on approach from a proper potions expert, Penny Haywood. Before going to Penny, you need to wait three hours.
Go to the Potions classroom when you are ready to meet with Penny. Penny will tell you she managed to get potion ingredients from Snape.
She will reassure Barnaby, and shortly after, all of you will proceed to the potion-brewing.
For this task, you need to earn five stars within three hours. All five stars are required to pass.
Actions with bonus progress are tied to Penny. Prioritize her actions to save some energy.
When you are done, Barnaby will finish brewing the Draught of Living Death.
Penny will praise Barnaby’s potion because of its high quality. According to her, Professor Snape will probably rate the potion as “passable”. You’ll agree that it’s definitely high praise to hear from someone like Snape.
Barnaby will feel relieved. You’ll have a choice to celebrate this success now or not because it’s too early. This will not make a great impact on the story so feel free to choose the option that you like more.
Barnaby will mention that brewing the potion is half of the problem. Another half is that he doesn’t know how to present his knowledge in front of the crowd. He will stumble over his words and keep forgetting everything.
You’ll decide to help him improve his confidence in public speaking.
Go to the Clocktower Courtyard when you are ready for the next Barnaby’s practice. Penny and you gathered a few friends to help Barnaby get rid of his public speaking anxiety.
To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. If you are low on energy, it is recommended to wait for your energy bar to refill.
Bonus progress actions are tied to Victor and Barnaby. Prioritize their actions to save some energy.
Your friends will help Barnaby with their advice, and he’ll feel much better and more confident.
He’ll still be unsure about which approach to take for the presentation. You can tell him to be Personable (requires Courage level 50) or Professional. Professor Snape will prefer the professional approach, so it is recommended to pick the second choice.
Barnaby will choose you to be his personal assistant so he can look more personable (or professional, depending on what you chose earlier).
There will be a waiting time of two hours before Baranby’s presentation starts.
Once the waiting time is over, head to the Potions Classroom. When you arrive, you can tap the speech bubbles above students’ heads if you are curious to know what they have to say. You will find Barnaby very anxious, and you’ll try to calm him down. There are three options to stop his overthinking. Choose the one you prefer, because any of those options will help him.
After a few moments, Professor Snape will announce that Barnaby’s presentation is about to start.
Barnaby’s opening of his presentation will differ depending on the choice you made earlier.
To complete this task, you need to earn five stars within eight hours. All five stars are required to pass. Starting this task is not recommended if you are low on energy.

Luckily, Professor Snape will rate Barnaby’s potion as “Passable”.
The professor will mention that Lee’s potion is far from flawless, but it’s definitely usable. Furthermore, he’ll praise Barnaby for making a vast improvement in his potion-making.
The following line will differ depending on your choice earlier.
You’ll ask Professor if Barnaby passed the class. Professor Snape will confirm, and he’ll even praise Barnaby’s determination to find help.
You’ll tell Barnaby this was all good practice for the upcoming Potions N.E.W.T. Moments later, the Trouble Brewing adventure will come to an end. Hit the Collect button to claim your rewards.
Don’t forget to claim a reward from the Achievements section.
Completing this adventure will help you during the Potions portion of the N.E.W.T.s. You will be allowed to miss one question and still get full points.
By helping Barnaby brew the Draught of Living Death, you proved that you are more than ready for the Potions N.E.W.T. More importantly, you helped your friend pass the class and undoubtedly Barnaby won’t forget your kindness.
Thank you for reading and see you in the Wizarding World.
