iOS users get to try out The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature today

The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature iOS is available for purchase beginning today on the iTunes App Store. The game costs $3.99 and comes as a 3.3GB download, requiring iOS 10.0 or later. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad and it is offered by ARTE Experience. It is a beautiful, story-driven adventure based upon the myth of Frankenstein that looked promising ever since it was initially announced earlier this year.

“Everybody has a story, a beginning and an end. Mine began when others ended.”

These are the words with which this story begins and it is clear at first glance that we are in for something different. In this game, we are looking through the eyes of Frankenstein much like those painted for us in the 1818’s novel by Mary Shelley, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. However, the story here takes a different path as we ourselves as players get to choose how this portrait will be painted.

The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature PC release date was on October 31, along with Mac version, right on Halloween. On Steam, the game has been getting nothing but positive reviews and feedback, praising its storytelling and gameplay alike. It is developed by La Belle Games in conjunction with ARTE France, who published it as a premium game. Besides the mentioned PC, Mac, and mobile versions, the game is also announced to come to Nintendo Switch in Q1 of 2020.

The watercolor stunning visuals and its cryptic atmosphere attract those who love a good narrative paired with innovative gameplay mechanics, offering a fresh perspective on gaming in general. As mentioned, the game does connect the source material written by Mary Shelley back in the beginning of the 19th century with modern-day pass time. But, giving us as players choice about where the story might go leads to recreating the myth in a new form. According to the words of the developers themselves, this game aims to provide an enlightening look through the eyes of this legendary creature, which has already been re-imagined and portrayed numerous times in various other stories and movies.

On the iTunes App Store, The Wanderer: Frankenstein’s Creature iOS is available now and the journey promises to be an emotional one, besides being challenging also. The watercolor art style, the world from the novel which has come to life in a detailed depiction, and a masterful soundtrack composed specially for the immersive experience are all waiting for us right now.
