Hotel Transylvania Adventures is another official game based on the hit animated movie featuring Dracula and his colorful family. The game is available for iOS and Android devices and it’s a cute, small platformer that will be interesting for you as well as your kids.
This time around Mavis let mischievous wolf pups out in the castle, and now they are wreaking havoc all over the place. Now Mavis is grounded for causing this accident and the only way to redeem herself is to find the pups. The players will lead Mavis and make sure that she collects all the pups and bring back order to the hotel. Besides Mavis, players will also be able to lead other characters such as Hank, Pedro or Wendy.
Now the game may sound pretty straightforward, but pups are really good at hiding and it will take some skill to find them. On the way, you will collect coins which you can use to renovate the hotel and pay for the damage pups have caused. So, this is also another thing to pay attention to since it will help Mavis not stay grounded for long.
There are 80 levels in the game and each is more challenging than the previous one. And as you progress in the game, you will encounter new obstacles, and discover new rooms. You can also replay levels to get all the objectives done and improve your score which will be pretty handy for renovations.
When it comes to character, each has a special skill and is useful at certain moments. Also, there is a room for every character only they can enter and finish, so keep that in mind as well. Power-ups are cool but you need to pay attention to how you use them in order to complete the tasks successfully.
Controls are really user-friendly, and instead of countless tapping all over the screen, you have two arrows in the left side of the screen which you use for moving forward and backward. Also, on the right side of the screen is an arrow pointing up which you use to jump. Usually, to jump over obstacles like pointy arrows or purple slime you will have to use a combination of the two, which in a way turns your phone into a console-like device.
In the end, this is a classic platformer which looks amazing with familiar characters and environment the players met in the films and other games. It’s nice to see a game similar to Mario Bros. which doesn’t pretend to be better or innovative. Hotel Transylvania is fun to play and you will really go to extra length to complete the levels with an excellent score. Furthermore, this may not be the greatest platformer ever made, but it’s a nice entertainment for holidays especially for the children.
