After the success of the first installment, Mr. Pumpkin 2 arrives and brings us the Walls of Kowloon, the fabled city from times long forgotten. It brings more puzzles, more wacky and addictive gameplay, and entirely new content in a sequel of one of the most successful mobile puzzle games. Dished out by Lilith Games, which are excited to present their latest title, this is a point and click puzzle adventure that has the same run-of-the-mill protagonist we love from the previous game.
The first game, Mr. Pumpkin Adventure, was dished out in 2016 and has had very positive reviews on Steam and similar feedback on mobile app stores. This title has had a high number of pre-registered users and, because of that, Lilith Games organized a special in-game event in a collaboration with AFK Arena, which brings rewards for all players who go and play now.
What truly makes Mr. Pumpkin 2 special is that the game takes us to the golden age of the Asian film industry, in the city of Kowloon which was the most densely populated city on the planet before it was demolished in 1993. The city had only 50 thousand citizens, but they all lived and worked in an area that’s the size of one city block. Yes, Kowloon Walled City was a real thing, located in Hong Kong, China. It was 6.4-acres in size and was the den of all evil, including crime and vices, and was controlled by triads.
Now, our bellowed Mr. Pumpkin revisits that place which will forever hold its place in the history of China and the world. Mr. Pumpkin 2: Walls of Kowloon is hand-drawn, stylized to capture the chaotic atmosphere of what life was truly like in Kowloon back then. It has an immersive storyline and is pretty true to the real thing, as the city’s streets, public transportation, shops, and residential areas are saved on photographs and old news clippings, which you can find on the web.
In Mr. Pumpkin 2, we play as one of the inhabitants of Kowloon WEiled City in the period towards the end of the 20th century, near its demolition. The stories found in-game will be filled with historical Easter eggs, while the gameplay completely relies on point-and-click puzzles, which will keep you on your toes. And, not to spoil anything, but there is also the greatest puzzle of them all, the location of Dragon Gate, which leads out!
