If you are looking for a light game that won’t take much of your time, then My Museum Story by ZiMAD right up your alley. Released for iOS and Android devices, the game is a mix of match-3, adventure, and puzzle in which you will search for ancient treasures and artifacts of glorious civilizations.
The title role in the game belongs to Grace a twenty-something archeologist who inherited a museum from her grandpa. She is able to come to an agreement with Mayor Baker to keep the museum open and restore it to its full potential. Helped by Mike, Grace makes the museum better with each chapter by collecting artifacts and restoring exhibits.
Now, this is a really simple game with attractive art and adequate narrative perfect for people who don’t want heavy gaming, as well as children. However, even as such game, it’s not without faults, although My Museum Story doesn’t pretend to be anything else than it isn’t.
From the very beginning, the premise and concept are established through the direct and naive exchange of dialogue and the gameplay starts right away from there. Through solving some rudimentary puzzles and completing tasks, you will progress in the game. The museum will get more and more restored with every trip you go to for archeological dig or connection you make with colleagues and benefactors. At one point, Grace will find a cat that snuck in the shipment from Egypt and feeds her which was really a cute detail.
It’s these ordinary details that keep the game modest and accessible, which makes it a perfect relaxing title to play after a busy day. This is also a wonderful entertainment for those who still get the hang of mobile games or are not much of players at all.
But for us who spend time playing big and complex games, this is not so excitingly spent time. So be careful not to get disappointed since and blame it on the game. The last thing this game is trying to trick you to install it – what you see in the trailer is what you will get in the end.
