We’ve been hearing rumors about mid-range Pixel phones for a while now. And now, we seem to have pictures to prove it. Apparently, the leaked pictures show a cheaper phone called Pixel 3 Lite which is made of glass, plastic and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Since the picture was leaked by a reliable source at Rozetked, there is no reason to doubt them unless something changes in the process. But the difference from the standard Pixel phones seems to be significant, hence the potentially lower price. The 5.56-inch screen is LCD and not OLED and the back is not metal but plastic.
Based on the source, Pixel 3 Lite will come with Snapdragon 670 chip, only 32GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. When it comes to internal storage, the users won’t be able to expand it, but whether this points out that this phone is for developing markets or everyone is yet to be determined. I guess we will have to wait for an official announcement from Google to find out. However, it could be that Google plans to test how people would react to being dependent on storing data on the cloud instead of on the phone.
Regarding the front and back camera, the leaked photos showed information about them as well. Rear-facing camera will be 12MP while the front one will have 8MP. Just like Pixel 3, the battery will be 2,915 mAh but for other specs, we will have to wait for the official announcement by Google. The rumor mill attached codename Sargo to the phone which matches what we’ve already heard. Since numerous leaks appeared on the matter, we can say that this information is true.
Let us remember that information on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL has proven to be completely true when Google announced the devices in October. So, there is a pretty good chance that leaks regarding Pixel 3 Lite are also true. It’s believed that the starting price will be $400-500, but that is still something to be confirmed by Google.
