Pokémon: Let’s Go! Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee! for New Generation of Players

0

First games in the new Pokémon series are here and they do carry a promise to attract new fans. Launched for Nintendo Switch, Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! are RPGs developed by Game Freak and have integrated Pokémon Go features. The game will also make possible to use Poké Ball Plus controller, as will the others that follow this release.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! look a bit different than the 1998 game Pokémon Yellow they are actually remakes off. Some older players may find the new look frustrating, but the game looks amazing and modernized which is something today’s younger players expect. After all, if anything, Nintendo is very adamant of bringing its franchises to Switch, so seeing old games in the new suit will be something frequent in the upcoming period. But this Pikachu and Eevee game seems more like a Pokémon Go sequel than a full standalone game. This will probably be remedied in the future and this may only be Nintendo’s fishing for sentiments on the Pokémon remakes to see how to proceed further with this plan.

Both games were released at the same time and you can either buy both or you will have to choose between Pikachu or Eevee. As you already know from the Pokémon universe, which other Pokémon you will catch depends on who you chose here. Also, if you want to add Poké Ball Plus controller you will have to pay $49.99 which may be lower considering that holiday season is upon us. This controller is a smaller version of Joy-Con and you will be able to use it to play not just current but also future Let’s Go games. With Poké Ball Plus comes Pokémon Mew to use in-game, and you can use it for smartphone playing of Pokémon Go, as well.

These new Pokémon games bring a completely new relationship you can have with Pikachu or Eevee. They will sit on you while you walk around the world and the game allows you to customize their style and clothe them in cutesy outfits. Moreover, you can both dress the same and be even more in sync. The cutest thing is that you can pet your Pokémon friend and cheer them up with a tummy rub. Trust me, this is something hard to resist at times and will make your real pet jealous. But this move has another benefit, an in-game one. Namely, your Pokémon will be able to withstand some attacks in battle just because you give them attention and love.

But, another great thing about the game is that you can add another Pokémon, meaning that you will lead two of these magical creatures at the same time. It’s important to form a special bond with your second Pokémon as well, in order to experience the same benefits as with Pikachu or Eevee.

Pokémon Go interface we all are used to will activate when you choose to have interactions in the game. Besides the interface, the catching mechanic is also transferred here from Pokémon Go but this time you use Poké Ball Plus in order to throw one in the game. And when it comes to fights, they’re definitely transferred here from original Game Boy titles.

Those who loved the original and are worried that this made it worse will quickly be discouraged of such belief. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! use map and storyline that we already know only with some improvements. But instead of being retro, these games are modern and very much up to date with graphics. So, you will get to feed your nostalgia and play amazingly looking games at the same time, which is a win-win on all counts.

Frankly, if this is what we can hope for when it comes to new Pokémon games then I can’t wait to see what Nintendo has prepared for us in the future. Until then, don’t forget to hang with your Pokémon and have a great adventure with them.
