Been one of the most popular kids’ franchises, Power Rangers were frequently appearing in various video games, as early as on the old NES. After the huge hit on mobile devices which was Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, another mobile entry promises to repeat the success. But this time, instead of the versus fighting, All-Stars is a 3D isometric RPG. To make things better, the developers for this game were Nexon, the studio behind the Maple Story, another great hit for mobile phones.
In Power Rangers All-Stars, fans will begin in Story Mode where they will be guided through a tutorial by Doctor K and Colonel Truman from Power Rangers RPM. From there, they will earn the core five RPM Rangers (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Black) with the ability to unlock additional Rangers from other seasons as they progress through Story Mode levels.
Gameplay wise, All-Stars reminds us on Marvel Future Fight. There’s that isometric view, arenas filled with enemies, real-time strategic combat, similar control method and power moves taken from the original. However, that doesn’t make this game bad, on the contrary. This system is well suited for the games like this and it provides the supreme fun and challenge factor to the players.
The prominent game mechanism in this game is the possibility to make custom squads of Rangers, allowing players to create their own Power Rangers Dream Team. This game features all the heroes from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Power Rangers Dino Charge. Players now can collect and level up their favorite Rangers. In order to do so, they will utilize two in-game currencies, which are coins, and crystals.
Teams currently included in the game will be Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Wild Force, Power Rangers S.P.D., Power Rangers Mystic Force, Power Rangers Operation Overdrive, Power Rangers RPM, Power Rangers Samurai, Power Rangers Megaforce. Power Rangers Super Megaforce, Power Rangers Dino Charge with more to come in the future updates. For now, we don’t know when they will come and which teams they will include.
As in the TV Show, all your missions are planned inside your Command Center, which you can explore in-game in 3D and discover its secrets. Except for the Rangers, you’ll have their mechs, Megazords, at your disposal to pilot and fight massive, in-game original monsters. As we mentioned, you can select your custom team of Rangers to fight in training 5-on-5 matches in Dimensional Arena. There are two modes for single player, Daily Missions and Dimensional Explorations, and you can use your custom teams there too. There is a multiplayer aspect in a form of Alliances you can build with your friends and complete Alliance Raids with them. Rewards in this game are plentiful, and you will get them even if you are idling.
For the fans of the Power Rangers, this is one of the most eagerly anticipated games, But even if you are not a fan of super sentai this game will give you a decent amount of fun with its story gameplay and multiplayer features. We eagerly wait for the future updates that will upgrade the game even further.
