A pistol is a sidearm, and you need to use it as a sidearm. It can’t be used as the main weapon, mainly because every gun is better. There is one good thing about handguns, they don’t take up a lot of space and they are a solid close range solution. If you are tight with space this comes as a good thing. Otherwise, you’ll have an SMG or a shotgun as a close range option, which is a lot better in my opinion. They are useful at the start of the game for a first few minutes, until the enemies haven’t got the vests and helms. After this period their usefulness drops to the bottom, especially when the majority of the fighting starts taking place in the vast area. We will try to cover the basics of each gun, for those hardcore players that don’t give up on pistols.

The famous Glock, made in Austria. You must have heard about this handgun before if you weren’t living under the rock. Glock is a reliable weapon, used by the police and the special forces around the world.
A reliable sidearm, with the most DPS out of every pistol in the game. Its damage is lower than any other pistol, but automatic fire mode and the rate of fire makes it up big time. The gun is using the 9 mm ammo and has a slightly lower range than the other pistols. Spread is high in the automatic fire mode (for a handgun) but you can handle it because its recoil goes mostly up. Just keep pulling down while you shoot, and you’ll be able to contain it. The magazine should not be a problem because it can hold the most bullets if you compare it with the other pistol, but it does since you can empty it before the German can say panzerkampfwagen. Best pistol in the game, and maybe the only one that deserves to be carried even at the later periods of the game.
Most people recognize this gun as the M1911A1, made back in 1911. This weapon was used in the regular service for 75 years before it was replaced by another weapon you can find in the game – P92. This says a lot about gun quality.
In the game, this gun has only 7 rounds in a magazine, but it’s dealing quite the damage. It doesn’t have a lot of range like most of the other pistols, he is losing the damage as soon as the bullet leaves the chamber. I advise you to use it only in the close range as the secondary weapon. The rate of fire is the second amongst pistols with 550 rpm. Spread is fine, and you can only fire one bullet at the time.
Beretta replaced the M1911A1 back in ’86, it is being produced and used ever since.
This is a below-par pistol in the game, even the description fits: “Modest handgun”. If you need to list the pistols by the usefulness from the best to the worst this one would take spot number three. It is using the 9mm ammo, the magazine can hold 15 rounds which is pretty good for a pistol. The damage is not bad, but when you combine it with the rate of fire it is not a solid weapon. The range is bad, like every other pistol, it should only be used in the close range combat. Handling of the P92 is not hard at least. P92 should only be used until you get the other firearm, after that it should be dropped and forgotten.
Made by the Russian M1895 was made the same year the model is stating. It is a revolver which can hold 7 rounds.
In the game, the gun is using 7.62 ammo, so it can hit pretty hard. It has the most damage per shot when you compare it to any other pistol. That was the good side of the weapon. Let’s talk about the cons. The gun has a 7 round magazine, low compared to the other pistols. The range is bad like any other pistol and the stability is awful. The rate of fire is laughable, to kill a foe he must be either blind or away to a bathroom…This is the worst gun in the game, so at least it has a title to brag with. Stay away from it, you have more chance with a melee weapon than with this thing.
This is a Chiappa Rhino, a beautiful Italian made a revolver. In the game, the name is shortened to R45. No time to waste on writing a full name.
R45 is using the 0.45 caliber ammo. It deals the best damage per shot out of all sidearm. Base damage starts falling off as soon as the bullet leaves the chamber, like most other pistols. I’m not the big fan of sidearms in this game, but I kinda like this one. You can finish off a guy at close range pretty quick with R45 and it’s pretty easy to aim with it. It can only have one attachment, red dot sights, but the gun doesn’t need anything else in my opinion. The gun has a low rate of fire, but when you take the damage per shot into the equation you get that it would be imbalanced with a higher rate of fire. The weapon is exclusive to the Miramar map for now.
