Yee-haw! Like many of us suspected nearly a year ago, Red Dead Redemption 2 was just confirmed for PC. Rockstar Games brought joy to many lovers of this franchise by announcing this news. The date was already set, and you have around one month to saddle your horses and prepare for another ride.
The pre-purchases will start on October 9th for all the players using Rockstar Games Launcher. As suspected before, this game launcher was created just in time for the PC release of Red Dead Redemption 2. If you haven’t done so before, you have until Tuesday, October 8th to download their launcher and get Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for free! But that’s not all, there are whole lots of other goodies for those that choose to purchase Red Dead Redemption 2 via Rockstar Games Launcher.
First and foremost, Red Dead Redemption 2 will arrive on PC in its full form. This means that the game will release with all the previous content updates and improvements, as well as new Bounty Hunting Missions, Gang Hideouts, Weapons and more. Also, purchasing the game will grant players free access to Red Dead Online, along with all of its content updates. Since the game is launching on PC, the developers went out of their way to make various graphical improvements and technical enhancements to make the game as immersive and enjoyable as possible.
As for the goodies, everyone who pre-purchase Red Dead Redemption 2 through Rockstar Games Launcher before October 22nd will get to choose from a list two of Rockstar Games PC titles completely free. This list includes the following titles:
- Grand Theft Auto III
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
- Bully: Scholarship Edition
- L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition
- Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition
And that’s not all! Pre-purchases made using Rockstar Games Launcher will also include free upgrades to the Premium Editions of Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as a $20 discount on both Special and Ultimate Editions. But wait, there’s more! Further pre-purchase bonuses via Rockstar Games Launcher include:
- Outlaw Survival Kit for Story Mode
- War Horse for Story Mode
- Treasure Map for Story Mode
- Cash Bonus for Story Mode
- 50 Gold Bars for Red Dead Online
If all of these goodies and bonuses aren’t appealing enough, players also have the option of pre-ordering via Epic Games Store, Humble Store, GameStop, Greenman Gaming and other digital retailers starting October 23rd. These will include 25 Gold Bars pre-order bonus for Red Dead Online. Other than that, the game will also be available this November on Google Stadia. As for the Steam users, they will have to wait a bit longer since the Steam version will not come out until this December.
Rockstar has also stated that they plan to reveal some additional information next week, including screenshots, system requirements, and more.
