Samsung Galaxy Fold Launching today

Samsung Galaxy Fold launch date set for September 6th, 2019, has finally come! The device hits South Korea initially though, but this gives us a look at the price and the device’s detailed specifications. Furthermore, it was initially announced that this highly anticipated gadget will hit the US first, in April no less, but due to screen defects revealed by the Smartphone’s samples, the launch was delayed.

Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Fold price is set at $1,980 roughly (KRW 2.398)

Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with 5G support, of course, and it will have LTE-enabled versions for a selection of countries that include France, Germany, Britain, and the U.S. But, the release dates are still unknown for either of these. Samsung announced this latest foldable device as an attempt to infuse the saturated market with innovation and a widened functionality.

This September date was confirmed back in July, when the company also revealed it was making improvements on the problems detected by early reviews, including hinges strengthening. Furthermore, Samsung will also cover 70% of the repair cost for the display screen once within a one year period after purchase, if the need arises for any user.

The chief executive of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, RJ KOh, said:

“Consumers have responded positively to larger screens, and the Galaxy Fold’s revolutionary form factor offers a bigger, more immersive screen without sacrificing portability,”

As this device hits the market, September will also see the dawn of another foldable Smartphone, this time developed by Huawei Technologies. The company unveiled their plans last month and set the date for Sept. However, Huawei would have also launched their model earlier, but they faced their own complications, mainly with the US trade blacklist as a part of the ongoing phone wars struggle. Galaxy Fold is expected to boost the 5G subscriber count and expand the market in South Korea, according to an estimate from SK Telecom, their biggest mobile carrier. They also promised discounts, insurance plans, and various juicy conveniences for users of the new foldable Smartphone.
