Epic Games decided to step up again with the exclusives and deals on its store. The latest game affected by Epic ’s moment of generousness is Slime Rancher, which will be free for a week until March 21st. They say the best things in life are free, but we are not sure if this game is one of the best considering its average score is around 65 out of 100. It did undergo various updates since then, and, regardless of the score, it has sold especially well with more than 2 million copies.
Slime Rancher is a sandbox farming sim with the first-person perspective, with a twist that your farm is on a distant planet and your herds are, well, slime. The description of the game says that your task is to “amass a great fortune in the business of slime ranching, collect colorful slimes, grow crops, harvest resources, and explore the untamed wilds through the mastery of your all-purpose vacpack.”
This sounds good until you realize the resource you will be harvesting is actually excrement, although it’s technically called “plorts”. Apparently, there is a big doo doo market in the galaxy, and the money you earn from harvesting it will help you expand your operation into a true shithouse, pardon me, poo powerhouse. Be aware, though, because slimes apparently like to consume the aforementioned excrement, and if they happen to eat the wrong kind of plort, they will mutate into a rabid form of slime.
Yes, we agree this is all very weird, but apparently, it is very cute too and, the most important, it’s zero cost until March 21. So hurry up to Epic Games Store and claim a copy for yourself.
