Welcome to the Star Trek Fleet Command research article. Here we will talk about two different Star Trek Fleet Command research branches – Station and Combat. At the end of this page, we included several tables filled with data about the requirements for different technologies, their research cost ( time and resources) as well as the benefit that each technology provides.
Combat Research Branch covers bonuses that can directly increase the combat capability of your ships, like the improved hull health, Shield/Armor Health, and Deflection, damage bonus, etc. However, Star Trek Fleet Command research will also enable you to unlock new, more powerful ships. When choosing the next technology to research prioritize something that will provide the most benefit to your primary combat ship. For example, it would be useless to research Kinetic Shockwave (improves kinetic damage), if your primary combat ship is Turas – explorer that has Energy weapons only. If you’re not sure what combat stats are the most important for your ship class, check out our Star Trek Fleet Command Ships page. It will help out with the choice of Star Trek Fleet Command research so that you can maximize the strengths (main stats) of your preferred combat ship. Quick tip (if you don’t wish to read through our Ships page) about prioritizing of Star Trek Fleet Command research considering the most important stats for different ship classes:
In Star Trek Fleet Command research under this branch mostly improves non-combat technologies like resource generation, warehouse capacity, etc. However, there are a few technologies that will indirectly increase your combat capabilities, like improved repair speed – this will enable you to get the damage ships back into the action faster, and that’s very useful in PvP. Besides that, Station branch also covers research of the defensive technologies, that will improve your defensive platforms or grant direct combat bonuses to your ships while they’re defending the Star Base.
NOTE: Upgrade cost/time values include all possible research/buildings bonuses for a given level, excluding Prime technologies.
