Sundered: Eldritch Edition on Switch and Xbox One

Sundered: Eldritch Edition Got Trailer for Consoles and Release Date

At the beginning of the month, Canadian studio Thunder Lotus Games announced its Sundered: Eldritch Edition for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One. You may remember this studio as the developer of Jotun who released Sundered already for PC and PlayStation 4 in July 2017.

Sundered received positive reviews after the release in 2017 and didn’t have may big updates since then. However, it seems that the studio has been working on the new release Sundered: Eldritch Edition which will actually be a boosted version of the original game. It will come with local co-op but PC and PlayStation 4 owners have also a reason to rejoice since they will receive an improved version of the game as well the Magnate of the Gong Update.

The improved version will add new features to the game’s Metroidvania experience which refers to, as you may have guessed, to the local co-op consisting of up to four players. The original game was already quite atmospheric, so this will make the gaming experience even more fun since you can share it with friends or frenemies.

Sundered: Eldritch Edition

There are other new things as well. Thunder Lotus Games added a new quest chain and some areas, but what intrigues us the most is the new boss who the players get to have a climactic fight with. Will Dubé, President of Thunder Lotus Games and Creative Director of Sundered: Eldritch Edition have said that the decision to make Nintendo Switch and Xbox One version came from the desire to make the launch special. Also, the multiplayer mode has been hanging over their heads for a while now and this was the perfect opportunity to include it into the game.

“It’s cool to see how well the local co-op integrates into the core Sundered experience in Eldritch Edition. It’s a great opportunity for existing players to dive back into the game as well,” explained Dubé.

Sundered: Eldritch Edition and Magnate of the Gong Update are scheduled for release on December 21 this year. But if you are impatient, you can pre-order it on Nintendo eShop right now for $19.99.
