There’s no denying that Arena of Valor is one of the most popular MOBA games for mobile. In the past year, the game has been a massive success and has gained many fans across the globe. Apparently, they are looking to increase their fanbase in one of the most interesting ways.
In the past few days, there have been some rumors circulating around that the crossover between Arena of Valor and Sword Art Online is possible. A few days ago, the image of Alice carrying two swords has been posted on the official GarenaAoV Facebook. Those swords had a striking resemblance to the ones used by Kirito from Sword Art Online. This post also stated that there will be an upcoming event related to those two swords, but the specifics about it remain unknown.
This pretty much sparked the AoV community and within a few days period, the social media has been going crazy about this.
Not long after this post, images of Kirito appeared in the game alongside heroes Mulan and Miyamoto from Honor of Kings. Judging by some rumors, there is a high possibility that Kirito will be based on one of those heroes. Some Reddit users even state that he will be an alternate skin for one of them, judging by the fact that Mulan is currently on the test server, so there is a high possibility this could be true.
Regardless of how Tencent decides to implement Kirito into Arena of Valor, this is without a doubt a smart move. After the huge success they had with the DC’s heroes, expanding the fanbase by incorporating Sword Art Online character is definitely going to increase the game’s popularity.
Also, the third season of Sword Art Online anime is immensely popular at the moment, which is likely one of the reasons why Tencent decided to add Kirito into their game.
It remains to be seen how and when will the character be added to the game, but one thing is certain – if this turns to be a success, we are probably going to see some more Sword Art Online characters making an appearance.
