The original Streets of Rage composers will work on the fourth installment

As we eagerly await the Streets of Rage 4 release date to be announced, we are getting more good news. The legendary Japanese original soundtrack composers for the franchise, Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, are again included on the project, along with a team of awesome experts. The epic soundtracks from Streets of Rage games are listened to even today, as now these fine artists are aiming to bring us another masterpiece.

The whole team for the fourth installation includes not just Motohiro and Yuzo, but also Yoko Shimomura, Hideki Naganuma, and Keiji Yamagishi. Here’s a brief overview of games on which these veterans of the gaming scene and wonderful composers have already worked on:

  • Yuzo Koshiro – Dragon Slayer, AcrRaiser, Beyond Oasis, The Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage series, and other
  • Motohiro Kawashima – Streets of Rage 2 and 3, Batman Returns, Shinobi II, and many others
  • Yoko Shimomura – Final Fight, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Final Fantasy XV, and more
  • Hideki Naganuma – Sonic Rush, Jet Set Radio, and other projects
  • Keiji Yamagishi – Ninja Gaiden, Onimusha Tactics, and other

The co-developer and publisher of the upcoming side-scrolling fighting extravaganza, Dotemu, is of course known for such titles as Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, Windjammers 1 & 2, and others. This title is now in collaborative development with Lizardcube, with whom they’ve worked with on WBDT. The upcoming project is dead set on bringing back the epic feeling of the game that still continues to shake the world 28 years after its initial release in 1991. The game was, besides other features, highly praised for its music and naturally, the developers have figured that there will be no original feeling without the original music, and they are right according to its cult following.

The upcoming soundtrack for Streets of Rage 4 video game is announced as a combination of impactful and memorable anthems and of course just sheer fine tunes to beat people up along with. The executive producer for the upcoming game, Cyrille Imbert, had this to say to about the team of composers they have now gathered under this upcoming title:
