Complete Walkthrough
Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Queen Marie Chapter 2 Stage 9 of Dress up Time Princess. Previously, you worked together with the King and his advisors and introduced the tax reform as a solution to France’s financial crisis. Some nobles agreed to pay their taxes immediately, while others were quite hesitant at first. In the end, after a lot of hardships, you managed to get all of them to agree to the reform. Other than that, you visited the Bastille and realized there is something else you can do for the people of France. After discussing the matter with the King and his advisors, you decided to demolish the Bastille as the final act of the reform. Thanks to all of your efforts, you changed history and avoided the fate that befell Marie Antoinette. However, there is a whole other side to this story. If you decided to have the Estates General organized during Stage 2-1, you will be able to play through the other side of the story. The stage window will display the requirements, a short description, and the rewards. Hit Start when you are ready to begin.
After making a decision to hold the Estates General, the King will have Lafayette gather people to form the Third Estate. Many of these people will be commoners with both status and power. Everything will go according to plan, and the day of the conference will quickly arrive.
Gabrielle will arrive at your chambers to remind you to get ready. She will tell you that many of the attendees hate the nobles and she’ll warn you to be careful. You’ll notice that her usually cheerful face looks very concerned, and you will try your best to reassure her that everything will be all right.
Gabrielle will gently smile at you, and this will be enough to reassure you that all will be well. You’ll decide to get changed into something appropriate for the conference.
For this occasion, you should choose the clothes and accessories with Formal and Noble tags.
Gabrielle will find your outfit very appropriate for the meeting. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to spend any more time talking to her, and soon enough, you will leave the palace.
Moments later, you will meet up with Louis XVI, and you will enter the carriage. During the journey, you will notice that the King is silent. You will quickly realize he is worried about the conference. You will acknowledge it won’t be easy to persuade the nobles to accept the tax reforms, but you will still be determined to try your best for the good of the country.
You’ll tell the King you believe that his choice is the right one, and you’ll be certain that his courage and wisdom will impress everyone. Unfortunately, despite all of the words of encouragement, he will still look very worried. After a short while, he will sternly say he is going to see this through, no matter the cost.
He will then admit to you he just wants to solve the financial crisis. You will gently smile at him and say that you’ll also try your best to do your part for the conference. Suddenly, the King’s expression will change completely. You will notice a shocking look on his face, and you will immediately know what he’s worried about.
You’ll tell him that you are determined to do all in your power to help with the reform. After a while, the King will nod his head and say that you do have a point. He will smile at you and thank you for everything.
Moments later, you will arrive at your destination. Upon entering the conference hall, you will notice that everyone’s eyes are focused on you. Shortly after, Lafayette will take the stand and thank everyone for coming to the Estates General.
His speech will be cut short by Duke Villars who will demand to know why you are allowed to attend the conference. He will point out that the goal of the meeting is to solve the country’s finances, and he’ll openly state that you are one of the reasons why France is having a financial crisis. You will feel deeply offended by his words, and before long, you will speak up.
You’ll sternly say that the goal of the meeting was already made clear by Marquis de Lafayette. Despite that, Duke Villars will continue to mock you by asking if you arrived to show off your latest outfit. Count Mondego will add that people who are responsible for the crisis shouldn’t be attending the conference. He’ll say that you are a disgrace to the King.
You will notice many eyes staring at you. Suddenly, you will feel a surge of confidence and you will proudly lift your head up and address everyone. You will tell them that as a Queen, you have the full right to attend the conference and be heard, as long as it’s for the benefit of the kingdom.
You will point out that anyone attending the conference has the right and the duty to do their part for France. Everyone will look at you in shock, stunned by your words. Count Mondego will be the first one to speak up against you.
You’ll remind him that France is in a financial crisis, and everyone should make sacrifices to save the kingdom. Baron Douglas will also speak up against you and point out that you have the least right to say that.
You will notice that all of the eyes in the room are looking at you. You’ll feel as if their gazes are piercing directly through your soul, but despite everything, you will quell your rage and proudly glance across the nobles. You’ll tell them that they were just as careless with their money, but regardless of that, you aren’t attacking them since doing so would be completely pointless and wouldn’t benefit the kingdom.
You will point out that all of the nobles have always been living in wealth thanks to the taxes that the commoners were paying. You will say that the nobles and the clergy have the most but contribute the least. You’ll then ask if that is fair. You’ll notice that most of the commoners are nodding in agreement.
You will say that every Estate is invaluable and necessary for the kingdom, and instead of fighting one another, you should all work together to solve the crisis. And since the commoners have been contributing the most, the nobles and the clergy should also do their part.
You’ll tell everyone you are willing to be the first one to set an example and pay the taxes. You will turn toward Baron Douglas and ask if he’s willing to do the same. Instead of answering your question, he will try to avoid it by reminding everyone of your past habits.
You’ll admit you used to spend a lot of money in the past, but you’re eager to change for the sake of the country. You will ask the nobles if they are willing to do their part. All of them will just glare at you silently, unable to reply. Needless to say, the commoners will be shocked to see that.
The King will be the first one to speak up. He’ll praise your determination and he will tell Baron Douglas to be ashamed of himself for being quick to judge others when he isn’t willing to do his part for the benefit of the whole country.
Louis XVI will stand up and start clapping. Some of the commoners will follow his example, and shortly after, the sound of applause will echo through the hall. The King will once again praise you and say he hopes that everyone will follow your example and show their support.

Lafayette will speak up, saying he is willing to support the reform and pay taxes from now on. Count Fersen will also announce he is ready to do his part for the sake of France.
Shortly after, many noble families will publicly announce their support, and before long, the tide will turn in the favor of the royal family. Duke Villars will be the first one to speak up and express his dissatisfaction.
The King will calmly say that you are simply encouraging other nobles to do their part. He will point out that the only thing they should be concerned about is whether or not they want to support the reform and help France recover from the financial crisis.
Still, Count Mondego will be very hesitant to pay his taxes. Both he and Duke Villars will make excuse after excuse for not agreeing to do their part. They will even go as far as to blame the royal family for robbing them of their money.
Lafayette will remind them that the royal family wants to help the civilians by lessening their burden and having the nobles and clergy pay taxes as well. He’ll point out that openly refusing to support the tax reform wouldn’t really send a good message, especially in front of the representatives for the commoners.
The nobles will be unable to reply for a few moments. After a while, Count Mondego will ask the King to give them a few days to consider it. Duke Villars will agree with him. Soon after, most of the opposing nobles will nod their heads.
The King and Lafayette will look at each other, and after a moment, the King will agree to their proposition. He will, however, warn the nobles not to betray the trust he placed in them.
Shortly after, Queen Marie Chapter 2 Stage 9 will come to an end. You will receive the rewards for completing the stage.
