Hello everyone, welcome to our Walkthrough for Shadows of London Stage 1-10 of Dress up Time Princess. During the previous stage, you went to an old church in Eastern District to look for any clues about your parents’ deaths. Once you got there, you met Vincent and learned that he sometimes visits the church. Once the sermon was over, you spent some time talking to the common folks. While you weren’t able to learn anything about your parents, you did hear a lot of rumors about the disease. After a while, you decided to return home. Unfortunately, the weather outside was horrible, so Vincent asked you to wait for him and went to the main street to fetch a carriage. While waiting, you were approached by a strange man. Upon taking a look at him, you noticed that he was afflicted by the disease. Furthermore, he was craving blood and tried attacking you. You quickly ran into a nearby alley, but unfortunately, you slipped, fell on the ground, and twisted your ankle. Thankfully, Vincent arrived just in time to save you from the attacker, so you managed to escape relatively unharmed. Still, you were horrified by the fact that the rumors about the disease are true. But what would’ve happened had you decided to visit the Workhouse? Time to find out! The stage window will display the requirements, rewards, and a short description. Hit Start once you’re ready to begin.

The weather will be terrible during the following days. Madam Petit will decide to suspend all etiquette lessons for her students’ safety. However, she will still keep going out herself, to attend to matters regarding her new column. You’ll recall her telling Anna not to prepare the afternoon tea. This will make you realize she is going out again, which will give you a perfect opportunity to sneak out and visit the Eastern District.

You’ll decide to wear something simple, so you wouldn’t stand out. This time, you should pick clothes and accessories with Simple and Gentle tags.

Once you’re done changing, you will try sneaking out using the side door. On your way there, you will bump into Jack the coachman. He will notice that you’re wearing simple clothes, so he will ask you about it.

You’ll simply say that you don’t want to stand out where you are going. He will say that he’s got nothing to do, since he already sent Madam Petit to Mr. Erskine’s. He will ask you to tell him where you are going, and he will offer to give you a ride.

You will tell him that you’ll hire a carriage, so there’s no need for him to take you. Jack will remind you about the weather outside and say that it’s not safe to go out. You’ll tell him not to worry and ask him to cover for you in case your aunt asks anything.

Shortly after, you will leave the place and head to the Eastern District. Once you arrive, you will find yourself near a dark and narrow alley. You’ll recall the coachman saying that the workhouse is at the end of it. Unfortunately, the workhouse is not open for visitors, so you’ll try to think of a reason to get in.

Suddenly, a familiar voice will interrupt your thoughts. You’ll turn around and spot Doctor Grey standing nearby. You will be surprised to see him. Edward will say that he’s going to the workhouse to provide free consultation. You will figure out you could go there with him.

He’ll notice you thinking about something, so he’ll guess you are also headed for the workhouse. For a moment, you will be lost for words. Edwards will say he recalled Mr. Johnson mentioning the workhouse when you were at the opera house. He’ll easily deduce you want to learn more about your parents.

After hesitating for a moment, you will decide to tell him the truth. You’ll explain you were told that your parents died from tuberculosis. Given that no one wanted to talk to you about their deaths, you figured out there’s something your relatives weren’t telling you.

Edward will ask you to explain why you think there’s more to your parents’ deaths. You’ll say that your childhood memories have been coming back to you ever since you returned to London. You will tell him that your mother always behaved strangely in your dreams, and the conversation between her and your father was like a riddle.

Doctor Grey will point out that dreams are not always to be trusted. Oftentimes, they are a simple reflection of a person’s emotions. You’ll say that you have no clues about your parents’ deaths, except for the rumors you’ve heard. You will go on and tell him that you feel the urge to solve the mystery.

Edward will say that he understands how you feel, but he will remind you how dangerous it is to visit the Eastern District alone. You’ll look down in silence, knowing there’s nothing you can say to convince him.

Moments later, Doctor Grey will sigh and say that he’ll agree to take you inside the workhouse. You will give him a look full of surprise. He’ll go on and say that you need to stay close to him and agree to leave before nightfall, regardless of whether you find the information or not.

You’ll happily agree to his conditions, and shortly after, the two of you will head towards the workhouse. Upon arriving there, you will realize that the place is way more crowded than you imagined. The workhouse master will keep everyone in an orderly line outside of the consultation room, and you will be able to hear the sounds of coughing echoing through the corridor. You’ll assist Doctor Grey as he sits at the table, listening carefully to each patient.

One of the patients will thank Edward for providing them with medical assistance. The Doctor will smile at him and he’ll be very humble about it. He’ll point out that the conditions have vastly improved during the past few years, so the workers have it much better than before.

Because of that, what happened in the past shouldn’t happen again. You will notice the apologetic look on the man’s face, so you’ll ask if something bad happened in the past. The patient will just look away without answering your question. Edward will turn to you and explain that he’s an orphan, and he used to live in the workhouse with his younger brother when he was a child.

Unfortunately, the conditions back then were terrible. One day, his brother got sick, but he wasn’t treated in time, so he passed away. Realizing you’ve brought back some painful memories, you will apologize to Edward for reminding him of the past.

He’ll smile at you and say there’s no need to apologize. He will add that he wants to do everything in his power to prevent something similar from happening again. After hearing this, you will feel the emotions surging within you. There are two options to choose from.

Sad Glad

If you start feeling sad, you will say that he must’ve been devastated to lose the only family he had. Edward will explain that his brother’s death was the most painful event of his life, but it motivated him to become a doctor and help other children.

He’ll say he hopes that his brother would be comforted if he knew what he’s doing. You will kindly smile at tell him that his brother would be immensely proud of him.

If you start feeling glad, you will tell Edward that he must’ve gone through a lot of pain as a child. Still, you will admit you are glad for him. He will feel slightly confused by your words, so he’ll ask you to explain why you are glad for him. Selecting this option will grant you some Goodwill with Edward.

You’ll say that he managed to overcome his troubles, and he did so without harboring any resentment for the world. Being kind and turning his misfortune into motivation for helping others is a rare trait worth every respect.

Doctor Grey will humbly say that he’s not as strong and noble as you say. You’ll kindly smile and tell him that you admire him. You will go on and add that his brother would be very proud of him.

Edward will thank you for your kind words, and shortly after, he will resume his work. A young lady holding a baby in her arms will enter the room. You’ll notice a worried look on her face. She will show her son to Edward and ask if he has the “strange sickness”.

Upon carefully examining the baby, Doctor Grey will say that the child only has a cold. Still, the lady will be worried, since her son has been coughing a lot at night. Edward will explain that the baby was likely coughing due to the temperature at night, and his sleeping position. He’ll prescribe some light medicine, and instruct the child’s mother on how to administer it.

The young woman will be relieved knowing that her son is not afflicted by the disease. Doctor Grey will smile kindly and say there’s no need to panic about the strange sickness. He’ll explain that it hasn’t spread much in the Eastern District.

The mere mention of the epidemic will draw the attention of other patients. One of them will say that the same sickness appeared over a decade ago, while he was still a child. He will describe some gruesome details about it to others waiting in line.

An older resident will say he clearly remembers that the outbreak happened in autumn, thirteen years ago. He’ll say that the people were talking about a “bloodthirsty demon” that roamed the streets at night. You will get startled upon hearing that.

The young resident will remind him about the effects of the disease. The eyes of the afflicted turned red, their skin festered, and they’d all die within three days. On top of that, there were rumors of vampires as well.

Needless to say, you will feel disturbed upon hearing those rumors. Doctor Grey will continue seeing patients, and once the session ends, you’ll realize that night has already fallen. Edward will say he didn’t expect there will be so many patients, and he will apologize for delaying you.

You’ll tell him there’s no need to apologize. After all, he was providing free consultation for the people, and he worked hard to help those in need. You will hope you weren’t a bother. Doctor Grey will smile and say that you were very helpful. He’ll thank you for being there to assist him.

He will admit that he never imagined a noble lady such as yourself would be helping him in a workhouse without complaining about the poor working conditions. He’ll say that he noticed you talking to some of the patients, so he’ll ask if you managed to find out anything about your parents.

Unfortunately, none of the people you talked with knew anything about your parents. It is possible that the reason for that was the outbreak that occurred during the time your parents passed away. Edward will kindly advise you to ignore the rumors about vampires. According to him, those were probably made up because the people lived in such poor conditions.

On top of that, there probably aren’t a lot of people working there who know what happened over a decade ago. Still, Doctor Grey will encourage you to keep searching for clues until you find out the truth.

He’ll then decide to send you back to the Western District. But before that, he’ll say he has a gift for you. You’ll be surprised to hear that, and before you get to say something, he will smile at you and reveal a pale purple bouquet of flowers.

You’ll recognize them as lilacs, and Edward will explain that he often brings some presents whenever he visits orphans. This time, he had some left-over lilacs, and he wanted to give them to you, to show his gratitude for helping him. You’ll smile and thank him for the lovely gift.

He’ll say that lilacs were his brother’s favorite flowers. He used to tell him that if he could find the fifth petal of a lilac, he’d find his “lucky love”. You will realize how much Edward misses his brother, and you’ll ask him about it.

With a sad look on his face, he’ll admit that he didn’t take good care of his brother. You’ll shake your head and say that he was a good brother. You will point out that he treated Jesse like a brother, and took very good care of him while he was ill. Doctor Grey will smile and say that he wouldn’t really want such a mischievous little brother. Nevertheless, he will thank you for your kind words.

You’ll thank him for the flowers and cheekily say you will decorate your room with them and search for the fifth petal. Edward will gently smile and say he hopes you’ll be able to find a “lucky love”.

Shortly after, the two of you will decide to head back to Western District. Unfortunately, the front door of the workhouse will be closed, so you’ll have to leave by the back door. You’ll wander through complicated alleyways for a while. As you get close to the main road, there will be a sudden downpour. Edward will tell you to seek shelter while he goes to the main street to fetch a carriage.

You’ll walk over to a nearby house to hide from the rain. After some time, you will spot a figure up ahead. As the person gets closer, you will realize that he’s not the one you’re waiting for. His clothes will look tattered, and he’ll gaze at you with sinister eyes.

You will start feeling very nervous with the man staring at you, so you’ll offer to give him your spot, if he’s looking for shelter from the rain. He will just silently continue approaching you. You’ll quickly start looking for a way out.

Once you approach one of the street lamps, you will notice that he is in dreadful condition. His mouth will look bloody, and he will mutter the word “blood” as he continues walking towards you.

You will immediately realize that he’s infected by the disease. You’ll hurl the flowers in his face before rushing into a nearby alley. Unfortunately, you will reach a dead end, and upon turning around, you will notice the man getting closer.

Once he gets close enough, he will grab one of your arms. You’ll struggle to break free, but unfortunately, you will end up falling on the ground. Unable to do anything else, you’ll start screaming for help.

Without any other option, you will close your eyes. Suddenly, you’ll hear a gunshot, and the man will let go of your arm. Upon opening your eyes, you will notice him escaping through the pile of junk. On the other side, you will spot Doctor Grey, holding a smoking pistol in his hand. He’ll rush to your side and ask if you are all right.

After taking a moment to collect yourself, you’ll say that you are fine, and slowly stand up. Edward will remind you how dangerous it is to wander around the Eastern District. You’ll thank him for saving you, and say that you didn’t know he had a gun.

He’ll explain that he carries it around to defend himself, since he’s often visiting the Eastern District. You will point out that your attacker was infected by the disease and explain that he had the same symptoms as the “bloodthirsty demon” from the rumors.

Edward will try to calm you down and say there’s no such thing as the “bloodthirsty demon”. He’ll figure out that you’re probably in shock, so he’ll decide to take you to the carriage. He will also say that he’ll report your attacker to the police. Hopefully, they will be able to stop him from hurting someone else.

You will nod, still shaking from everything that happened. Edward will kindly smile and promise that everything will be fine. He will advise you to get a good rest once you arrive home. Shortly after, the two of you will leave Eastern District. This will mark the end of Shadows of London Stage 1-10 of Dress up Time Princess. You will receive rewards for completing the stage.
