AoV Sephera SUMMARY

SEPHERA SKILL LVL PRIORITY:

Water Spirits – ability is the main damage source and with proper gameplay, its effectiveness can be increased even further.

SEPHERA PLAY SAMPLE:

Sephera has no skill-shots, all of her spells are simply centered on her and affecting things in a certain specific radius. This place extremely high value on positioning so make sure this is your strong side when picking Sephera.

ARENA OF VALOR, HOW TO COUNTER SEPHERA:
  • 1. Burst her down, don’t let her have time cast large number of spells thus rejuvenating her allies.
  • Her second ability (large ring) only stun on the ring pattern. Walk toward her and the stun won’t hit you. (however, she may cast ultimate which means you have to walk outside again 🙂)
  •  If you caught her off-guard, don’t just dump everything on her, while the ultimate is lasting she is untargetable, so wait for it to end and then destroy her. In other words, she is only half dangerous at distance, in melee range she is very weak.

AoV Sephera Abilities

(Magic, Heal) Living Water

When Sephera uses any of her abilities, she triggers additional powers in the water, dealing 75(+15% of APmagic damage to the nearby enemy hero with the lowest HP, and heals the nearby ally hero with the lowest HP for 50(+10% of AP).

(Magic, Slow) Water Spirits

Cooldown: 5 sec
Mana Cost: 50 (+5x ability lvl)

Sephera summons a Water Spirit that attacks 3 enemies nearby (prioritizes enemy heroes), dealing 300/340/380/420/460/500/(+35% of APmagic damage and reducing their movement speed by 50% for 1 second. Her next normal attack after using this ability deals an additional 250/280/310/340/370/400 (+27% of APmagic damage and reducing cooldown of all abilities by 1 second.

  • while 2nd ability and/or ultimate are on cooldown, make sure to use Water Spirits + normal attack on every opportunity.
  • thou major part of her damage, don’t rely on it to burst opponents down, the scaling is that weak.

(Magic, Control) Wall of Water

Cooldown: 15/14.4/13.8/13.2/12.6/12
Mana Cost: 70 (+5xability lvl)

Sephera increases her own movement speed by 40% for a short period of time. After 1.5 seconds, a wall of water spawns, dealing 300/360/420/480/540/600(+40% of AP)magic damage to nearby enemies and stunning them for 0.75 seconds.

  • Walking in parallel with the enemy’s movement direction is the easiest way to land the stun.
  • don’t ever think you are safe because this ability is ready to use, as it will only stun those on the outer ring (like 650 units away), those in melee range will not be affected.

AoV Sephera Ultimate
(Magic, Invincibility) Tide of Life

Cooldown: 50 sec
Mana Cost: 100 (+10 x ability lvl)

Sephera enters a whirlpool, healing nearby allies for 500/650/800(+75% of AP) and dealing 600/800/1000(+90% of APmagic damage to nearby enemies. She cannot be targeted for 1.7 seconds while inside the whirlpool.

  • Ultimate safety spell, the reason why Sephera is so highly valued.

AoV Sephera Pros and Cons

PROS:

  • Good sustain/healing. Alongside her passive that heals an ally with lowest HP, the ultimate provide tons of damage and healing.
  • Ultimate strength. Aside from a good amount of AoE damage and healing, Tide of Life also provides 1.7 sec of invincibility (cannot be targeted) which can be used to soak up some of the major enemy abilities.
  • Simplicity – no skill shots. All of her abilities affect targets in the radius of that ability, thus all Sephera player needs to pay attention is the positioning of character and distance to the enemy.

CONS:

  • Weak against burst champions. If the opponents are burst type of champions there won’t be enough time for Sephera to take them out ().
  • Bad scaling/no burst. At no point in the game will Sephera be able to burst opponents down, at best she is grinding them down.
  • Lacking some decent control. Not only she is lacking control, but the short duration control of 2nd ability is very clunky, applying in form of the large radius (but small surface) ring centered on Sephera.

AoV Sephera tips and tricks

AOV SEPHERA LEVELING SKILLS PRIORITY:

Focus leveling Water Spirits. This is the main damage dealing skill, and since we are going to use this one on cooldown might as well make it the most effective it can get.

ARENA OF VALOR LANING AS SEPHERA:

Sephera is in a strange place when considering her role. Her scaling is bad she can’t be considered pure mid lane mage, yet her skills are not providing enough of utility for her to be played as support. However, the best use of Sephera is as roaming support. In which case, the focus is on landing good Wall of Water, support with damage from Water Spirits (make sure to land 1 normal attack between every usage of this ability). If you are lvl 4, use the ultimate when both teams are at each other, to damage enemies and heal allies, and immediately retreat and repeat the routine, 1st skill – normal attack, in order to bring cooldowns down asap.

ARENA OF VALOR TEAM FIGHTS AS SEPHERA:

Except for one key difference, almost everything is the same in team fights. That key difference is the somewhat dangerous potential of Sephera’s ultimate. Here is what we talk about: you start the fight in a very dangerous position, slightly closer to their front line than it is safe (but ONLY if your team is with you and on the same page). This dangerous positioning will draw attention from the enemy and the engage will follow up. Here is what is dangerous: you need to use ultimate that very second and allow enemy to cast their major damage shenanigans while you are immune to it (if you plan on doing this consider using Purify talent instead of Heal). Might not seem like much but in the grand scheme of things those abilities will not land on your allies and the amount of damage prevented is insane. This might not show up on statistics as healing done or something else, but the impact on team fight will be great and victory will be much closer.
