Vertex

Is there a point in building the Vortex?

Definitely and decisively yes! The Vortex is Fighter-class aircraft with missiles, so versatile it can engage anything short of submarines. Coupled with tons of damage delivered per single rocket and with several planes up in the air… no enemy can ignore it and if there is a balance of power, this unit will force the opponent to react with a proper defense plan, like building air defense structures or units… otherwise, it’s game over for him.

When you send the Vortex on target, he will fly over it, engage with his missiles, make a wide circular motion, fly over the target and engage again. It will do so until the target is either dead or there is no more fuel. Note that if the target dies while the Vortex still has some fuel left, you can set a new target and keep going. Once the fuel tank is low, the Vortex will fly back. In order to not waste the aircraft you want an Airfield ready, otherwise, it crashes down with no fuel and no place to land. Having said this, we came to the main the Vortex issue. Time. Time to upgrade everything needed to build them, time to build Airfield so they are not one-time-use weapons, time to refuel and repair... That is a lot of time, and opponent of yours won’t be always so generous providing you with some.

Priority upgrade for Vortex, Confederate G6 Light Jet Fighter is as follows:

  1. Fuel Economy System
  2. Composite Aircraft Armor
  3. Storm Missile
  4. Laser Sighting System
  5. Missile Launcher System
  6. Forward swept Wings Fuselage

Class: Aviation

Produced in: Avia factory LVL 2

Most effective against air units, vehicles, and buildings.

The Vertex fighter aircraft is provided with variable thrust vector jet engines that make it incredibly mobile. Its arsenal contains homing missiles, capable of hitting both air and ground units a fair degree of accuracy. But weak armor makes the fighter an easy target for anti-aircraft warfare. The Vertex has a limited fuel supply. When the fuel runs low, the fighter must return to the Airfield for refueling.
