CR PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 will come to Google’s cloud gaming platform Stadia! This means all supported devices will be able to run the game and enable owners to enjoy the upcoming, eagerly awaited, story-driven and immersive first-person RPG. Very little is known about the actual game so far, besides that its mature narrative centers on a story about man & machine. It is set in the distant future where people are integrating technology with their own bodies, but perhaps this latest official development video reveals something more:
Cyberpunk 2077 will have a non-linear narrative, so it is set in an open-world. It will be a blend of action and adventure and the stage is set in a futuristic megalopolis seen on the trailers so far called the Night City. People obsess over glamour, power, and body modification. The player-controlled character is an outlaw mercenary called V. The center of the plot seems to be a body modification that can somehow extend human life and enable immortality.
The game will feature character customization to the never-before seen extent, including the cyberware of course as well as V’s skillset and the general playstyle. Player’s choices will shape the unveiling of the story and the direction in which the narrative will lead them, while their decisions will also have an impact on the world around.
Cyberpunk 2077 release date is set for April 16, 2020, and the game will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox. As for the Google Stadia version, it will also launch in 2020 but more precise dates are still to be set.
