Warner Brothers studio has many intellectual properties under their wing, and one of the oldest and the most prominent are Looney Tunes. Since the beginning of video games, every now and then there are Looney Tunes themed titles for the popular devices. But, with the exception of the few, they didn’t succeed in transferring the crazy and wacky atmosphere of Looney Tunes into a video game. Will this mobile game make it? Let’s see.
First of all, unlike all of the other Looney Tunes games, which were mostly platforms are arcade games, World of Mayhem is a multiplayer action RPG that places iconic characters against each other. It is a free-to-play Android game featuring over 70 characters we all got to know and love from the classic Looney Tunes cartoons. There is every quintessential character, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Elmer Fudd, and Tweety. All these characters are available to collect and level up. Players can also unveil the alternative versions of them, such as Duck Dodgers and Valkyrie Bugs Bunny.
The players will form the parties made up of Looney Tunes characters of their choice, and then face each other in online multiplayer. All the characters will have their own distinct weapons and abilities that we all have seen in the cartoons. All the attacks are wacky and slapstick like their cartoon counterparts. There are anvils, pianos, boulders, baseball bats, guns, cannons, traps, and all kinds of ACME technology thrown into the equation. Additionally, PvP matches let you steal crates filled with power-ups from your opponents or defend your own. Some characters do better against each other, so you can recreate legendary cartoon feuds, like Sylvester vs Tweety or Road Runner vs Wille E. Coyote (genius).
In the moments outside of clobbering other players, you can create the entire Looney Tunes- themed world, with cities and landmarks designed after cartoon characters. By playing you can unlock landscapes and collect classic buildings from famous cartoon locations.
If watching Looney Tunes was an important part of your childhood, you should be excited about this game. Because World of Mayhem is a licensed game there are no limits on the number of characters and all other elements you have seen in cartoons. The creators of this game are Scopely, choose a company specialized for adapting global brands into games, and have many successful games under their belt.
The sheer wonkiness of the idea behind his game should be enough for you to dedicate a few hours into playing it. There are a few things crazier than the old school cartoon violence, and World of Mayhem is a rare opportunity to revive that feeling of unlimited imagination in a video game.
