CTR Spooky Grand Prix

The Spooky Grand Prix for CTR Nitro-Fueled is almost here

Another major update for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is arriving very soon (October 4th, to be precise) and it brings a plethora of new and interesting things to the table. This update is titled the Spooky Grand Prix, and as you may have already guessed, it is a Halloween themed event.

Beenox and Activision went out of their way to create interesting and engaging content, and they definitely aim to deliver! The Spooky Grand Prix brings a new racing track – Nina’s Nightmare, in which you race through a haunted manor. During this Grand Prix season, players will be able to release ghosts by breaking certain crates. Then, they’ll be able to chase these ghosts and capture them.

Other than that, this update comes with three new unlockable characters – Nina Cortex, Dr. N. Brio, and Komodo Moe. Nina Cortex can be unlocked via Nitro Gauge, while the other two characters, Dr. N. Brio and Komodo Moe, can be unlocked in the Pit Stop. There are also three brand new carts included in this update. The Skull Rider is the first one, and it can be unlocked in the Pit Stop. The other two – the Phantom and Nautilus are obtainable via Nitro Gauge.

Players will be pleased to know that this update will allow them to obtain the characters and items they missed from the first Grand Prix Nitro Tour as these will be available in the Pit Stop once the Spooky Grand Prix starts.

Another important thing to note is that the Leaderboards are present in this season, and all of the players who finish in the top 5% of either Nitro or Championship will be awarded the Championship Kart and signature decal.

This update also introduces some very welcome changes. All of the existing driving styles have been renamed in order to make them easier to understand. ‘Beginner’ is now called ‘Turn’, ‘Intermediate A’ was renamed to ‘Balanced’, ‘Intermediate B’ was changed to ‘Acceleration’, and ‘Advanced’ is now ‘Speed’. There is also ‘Drift’ driving style added, which makes it a total of five different styles to choose from. Yes, you can now choose which driving style you want, regardless of the character you’re playing with, which is a great change.

The Spooky Grand Prix is arriving tomorrow, October 4th, and will last until November 3rd.
