Another month has passed and another chapter in game development’s history has been written. This month’s titles were so impressive that it was impossible to choose only 5 games, but this is a list comprised based on content mostly viewed by our audiences. This is the top 5 mobile game retrospective of September by Blue Moon Game.
Tropico arrived on mobile after a long wait and several postponements. The game lets you play as a dictator on the Caribbean Island, so naturally, it’s popular. It was released for PC by Kalypso and Feral Interactive a year before that and the game has confirmed its quality now after it arrived on Android. It was released for iPhones and iPads prior to that, but nevertheless it continued its critical and commercial success.
Mario Kart Tour
Mario Kart Tour marks the first transition of the world-famous and beloved franchise to Smartphones. The game only came out several days ago, on September 25, but it already reached five million downloads in the first 24 hours. It features Mario universe characters, some new and many familiar ones, with the kart racing perfectly adapted for mobile devices.
Perfect World Mobile
This title has proven that MMO RPGs can still improve and expand their boundaries, and also push the limitations of mobile devices while at it. Perfect World Mobile marked an impeccable port of a PC game to Smartphones, with the original being released back in 2005 in China. It has slowly expanded throughout the world, introducing Chinese mythology to the gaming world, and it came to both Android and iOS platforms with high scores and positive reviews.
Hoppia Tale is a deceptively simple Zelda-inspired action RPG adventure, which brought the catchy familiar gameplay and perfectly adapted it to mobile controls. The story follows animals who battle against evil forces and it was published by Lucid Side studio. It scored 4.6 stars on Google Play right away and an even higher 4.8-star rating on the iTunes App Store. With its blend of genres, it also manages to tie everything in a puzzle-solving fast-paced gameplay style, which is what gives it its main allure.
NBA 2K20 released on September 6, and like its predecessors of the series, it was an immediate success. The Installment naturally brought updated content to match the current state of affairs in the NBA, but it also brought many new gameplay features to PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and of course Android and iOS. The game is perfectly balanced and ported to mobile nicely, and it marked the 21st installment of the NBA 2K franchise.
