War Heroes feature a total of 40 Troop Cards (so far), divided into four Tiers. The Tiers are Common, Rare, Epic and Heroic - from best to worse. Common and Rare Tier troops will be unlocked during the first few hours of gameplay while Epic and Heroic will become available in higher level warzones. However, because of their low cost, Common and Rare troop cards will be used throughout the game, especially Rare cards that are often used even in high-level battles. Every card will cost a certain amount of Energy points in order for troops to be deployed (or to call in air support). One of the most common ways to use a lower Tier card in War Heroes is to counter a specific high Tier card(s), providing you with an Energy advantage over your opponent. For example, Recruit Platoon (3 Energy) is often used to counter the Cruiser Tank (4 energy), especially in the early stages of the game. On the other hand, the Grenadier (2 Energy) can counter Recruit Platoon, etc.

All this counters and counter-counters can feel a bit overwhelming at the beginning, but very soon you'll want to take more than 8 cards into battle and will have to make some hard choices. Here we’ll try to describe the most units currently present in War Heroes (CLICK ON THE IMAGE) with all their pros and cons, while also explaining what are they effective against, and which units are their counters. We’ll also make some suggestions about the types of cards that synergize well with the ability of a specific general.
