As it turns out, Mad-Eye Moody has eyes and ears everywhere, and he is well-aware of your plan to sneak into the Ministry of Magic, so that option is off the table. Apparently, he wants to test your dueling skills, so shortly after arriving at the Training Grounds, he’ll ask you to duel him and demonstrate everything you’ve learned so far.
The reason for this is quite simple. He found out that there are some former Death Eaters within R’s ranks, so he wants you to be ready for anything. Also, he will tell you that recently, a prisoner has escaped Azkaban, and he’s likely connected to R. But that’s not all, the said prisoner is more than likely going after you, which is the main reason Mad-Eye moody wanted to see if you are prepared to defend yourself when the time comes.
You will instantly connect the Azkaban escapee with the assassin Jacob warned you about, and Moody will agree there’s a high chance those two might be the same person. He will advise you to stick close to your friends since you’ll need all the allies you can get.
